There was a recent brief media report of a missing pilot flying Cambridge > Bruny Island, which landed on a beach instead of the island airstrip and then vacated the aircraft. What happened, if anything?

Aero Club of Southern Tasmania, Victa VH-MTC. Pulled off a copybook precautionary on the beach, got out, collapsed. RIP Mike Strudwick.

Died of a heart attack I believe, unrelated to the landing.
