Has anyone heard any rumours about direct flights between the UK and Newfoundland?

I Think (Stand to be corrected) there are flights to Halifax from London Air Canada and then u change to one of the commuter airlines or via Montreal I am sure there are no flight s direct

Don't think it's rumour.

Air Canada from 27MAY10 to 26SEP10 is resuming daily seasonal St.
John’s – London Heathrow service using Airbus A319. The Star Alliance
carrier suspended this route about 2 years ago due to poor load
performance on this route.

Schedules as follows:
AC822 YYT2155 – 0625+1LHR 319 D
AC823 LHR1235 – 1435YYT 319 D 28MAY10 – 27SEP10

Monarch will be operating flights from LGW to St Johns from 5th June for a Canadian Company Go Travel, and a UK Company cant remeber the name.

Air Canada launches daily non-stop seasonal service between St. John's, NL and London Heathrow

MONTREAL, Dec. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada today announced that it will introduce daily non-stop seasonal service between St. John's and London Heathrow, U.K. offering convenient connecting flights throughout Europe with its Star Alliance partner carriers. Air Canada will operate the only daily non-stop service between Newfoundland and Labrador and London Heathrow between May 27, 2010 and September 26, 2010.- I missed this one, a nice return!:)
