View Full Version : Dragonair (KA) recruitment?
rmadrid 21st Mar 2011, 06:36 I don't think KA works on Sat./Sun. so you can relax yourself a bit for the weekend...=)
they do work on Sat ;)
cox i got the call for Apt. Test this Thursday two days ago
anyone else having the AT this week too??
Eishin 21st Mar 2011, 09:44 Hi all! I would like to ask how long did u guys wait for the invitation email to initial test. I have submitted my application for more than 2 weeks. I know some of you received invitation after 2 or 3days. But i still wanna know has anybody received invitation for initial test recently? If so, when did you submit your application? Thx for your help in advance.:)
rmadrid 21st Mar 2011, 13:21 i submitted my application in early Jan and got invitation in late Feb..and I just did the initial test on 17 Mar~
it's near the end of the application deadline, so don't worry you will get a call soon!~:ok:
Eishin 21st Mar 2011, 13:40 Thx for your info rmadrid. I do believe i will get a call very soon! But you know its reli hard to wait patiently. :ugh:
anyway, wish you will get a call for app test very soon!!
Pyromania 21st Mar 2011, 18:44 I applied back in mid-February. I recall I submitted my application on Sunday morning and got an email from KA on the following Tuesday.
I was very surprised by how quickly they responded
I am sure they have tons of applications to be reviewed. It seems everyone has a different wait time. So don't worry! There is still time before the deadlien approaches!
BTW, I am sure many have asked... but is there any way to prepare for the Numeracy Test and Aptitude Test?
Thank you and good luck to all!
rmadrid 22nd Mar 2011, 04:41 Good luck to you.
I got the call for Aptitude test last Saturday~ and will have it this Thursday:ok:
FelixLo 23rd Mar 2011, 08:56 got a call from KA today.
Gonna have the 1st stage interview on 14/4
tat0601 23rd Mar 2011, 16:07 Felix: I took the AT on the last session that day I think, 15:45
Anyway, congratulations that you got into the next round and I got the same call for interview today on the very same day as well! :)
What time is your interview?
Cheers~
:ok:
FelixLo 24th Mar 2011, 12:20 Mine is 11:20
what abt you?
tat0601 26th Mar 2011, 08:36 Felix: mine is 14:30~
mc da king: congrats!
Btw, anyone got 1st hand info on wt the interview is about?
felixluihk 29th Mar 2011, 17:35 Hey guys, I did my AT on 21/3. Anyone did it on the same day/ week and have been called up for interview?
Did you all had to wait for at least 2-3 weeks before you got the call?
felixluihk 29th Mar 2011, 17:37 Hey, I think there will be little about aviation and mainly about you and why you want to be a pilot. GOOD LUCK!
Drecian 30th Mar 2011, 08:42 Hi,
Just out of curiosity; does anyone know (roughly) the number of applicants that they allow through each stage of the selection process?
Cheers :ok:
rmadrid 31st Mar 2011, 03:22 hi, i did the aptitude test on 24 Mar, still waiting for the calls~ how was your aptitude test?
simly 31st Mar 2011, 11:22 Hi Guys, will they send you an e-mail as well for the first interview ??? i think they forgot to send me the e-mail...
felixluihk 31st Mar 2011, 12:02 rmadrid: I think I did alright. I got a few friends who did roughly the same and got the call for interview already, but they did take the test way before me or applied for DA13. How about you? How did you do?
simly: When I got the call for the Apt test she told me there won't be any e-mail to confirm, so may be she forgot to say that to you.
rmadrid 31st Mar 2011, 12:08 felixluihk, i did most pretty well, according to the scores...but did one badly~ i guess if we did it on the same week, we may receive the call at the same time! hope we both get it! :ok:
wongian 31st Mar 2011, 12:23 Just had my AT done today. I think I did it really badly. God bless. :ugh:
Felixluihk: Do you mean that some friends of yours actually applied back in November and had their AT done by then, but only received the call for 1st interview recently?
felixluihk 31st Mar 2011, 12:42 rmadrid: Yea, I hope so too. This is my third try for DA, how about you?
wongian: No, a friend of mine applied for DA13 and has just got back from flight grading. But back then he got the call for the interview about a week after the AT. A couple of them have applied for DA14, and did the AT about a month ago but have only recently been called for the interview.
rmadrid 31st Mar 2011, 13:07 felixluihk: this is my 1st attempt on DA~ i had one for CX as well:ugh: but failed the ICAO test.... mind asking u to which stage were u got stuck in the previous attempts?
felixluihk 31st Mar 2011, 13:12 rmadrid: I didn't get pass the initial test last time, but the time before I got to just before grading. So it was really depressing failing so quickly last year. Mind sharing you experience/ background in the aviation field?
wongian 31st Mar 2011, 13:22 felixluihk: You do work hard to strive for your dream. I believe you can make it this time and when you do, it is a well-deserved one. :ok: How about your experience in the aviation field? Mind sharing them?
simly 31st Mar 2011, 13:25 She told me there will be an e-mail sent to you to notify you what to bring for the first interview. But i didn't recive anything since...
rmadrid 31st Mar 2011, 14:10 felixluihk: I can feel you sadness as I failed the ICAO test:{, i didn't even read anything about aviation for some time and now I'm trying even harder to pursuit this dream!
I have no hours, no licenses...blank sheet~~
How did you fail the FG by the way? Anything, like experience you can share?
felixluihk 31st Mar 2011, 14:42 I didn't get to grading, I got to the interviews just before that. Back then I didn't know much about aviation, I only had 2 hrs on the glider.
In the past 3yrs, I've been studying an aviation course for just over a year and with 10hrs on the Grob at AFTC (part of FTA). So I'll be pretty upset if I fail again :hmm:
How about you guys? Anyone else free to share?
Eishin 31st Mar 2011, 15:36 That's fascinating to hear you guys getting into the next stage of assessments. Add oil guys!
I am just waiting for the initial test. Have been submitted my application 3 weeks ago, but still no email.
Has anybody received emails for initial test held in April?
rmadrid 31st Mar 2011, 15:47 hi Eishin, no worries about the 3 weeks' of wait...I waited for 2 months to get the invitation to initial test :)
Good news is that the initial test stage is going to end by the end ofApril, so you will have at most 4 more weeks to wait! Good Luck~:ok:
FelixLo 1st Apr 2011, 02:14 I haven't got the mail either!
in the phone call they told you they will send you an e-mail of what to bring for the interview right ???
sunny_liverpool 1st Apr 2011, 14:56 i received the email today.
My initial test will be on the morning 8April. Therefore, my test will be finished before afternoon?
In the email, it said formal dressing is not necessary. However, we are supposed to wear suit?
ShinkaiT 1st Apr 2011, 16:14 Hi, guys. Anyone received the call for the next batch of first interview? Time pass slowly:rolleyes:

ShinkaiT 1st Apr 2011, 16:25 Hi, guys. Anyone received the call for the next batch of first interview? Time pass slowly.
rmadrid 2nd Apr 2011, 03:13 hi sunny_liverpool, casual wear will be good enough:ok:
Drecian 2nd Apr 2011, 04:45 Is anyone else on here an international heading over for the DA14 initial tests in April?
-Jeff.
sunny_liverpool 2nd Apr 2011, 07:27 Thanks.
i don't want to stand out in dressing in the initial interview. May I ask, did most of the candidates have formal dressing or casual wear?
When will the test finish? (for me, it starts at 0945)as I have an exam in the evening at the same day/.\

You gotta be kidding me disappointed??? after one year study and ...10 hours on a Grob???? .. I only had 7200hours of HEAVY jet time, college degree, atp.... 14 year flying airline experience...
I suppose you will also be upset if you are not offered the left seat on the 74..(that means Captain)... in your initial interview..:yuk:
elgringo 2nd Apr 2011, 15:38 how sad... you people have to ask what to wear for an airline interview...
dress like you are applying for a job at McDonalds... pay is about the same and you will be eating there quite a bit on the pay you will be making.
sunny_liverpool 2nd Apr 2011, 16:00 I was told by a successful candidate that we better always wear suit to the interview!
Anyone else will have the initial test in April?

Dragonair pays relatively well compared to any post undergraduate job you can find in Hong Kong. The only exception are investment bankers in North America.
For the initial test, dress comfortably. The HR will not be remembering your faces at that time. Sit near the middle/front to hear the annoucements and questions more clearly. Do your best.
Numerical testing: if you applied for i-banking, you would have no problem passing this portion of the recruitment process.
If you speak english on a weekly basis, that portion will not challenge you either. Do not over think.
tat0601 3rd Apr 2011, 22:04 Elgringo: Hey you piece of shit! Yeah! I am talking to you! Don't want to start an argue here but what you had said was really pissing me off! I don't care how many fxxking hours you got and how many experience you had, so what? I bet tens of thousands of people got such experience as well, if it makes you think you are superior than others, you are damn wrong and i felt sad for you! This is a place for people with passion sharing about their interview progress and there is no place for you! Piss off!
FelixLo 4th Apr 2011, 02:47 Simly: Ys the HR told me an email will be sent to inform me what to bring,
seems we are in exact same condition!
mcdaking 4th Apr 2011, 03:06 Simly and FelixLo: I am in the same condition with u guys too. I had a chance to ask them about the email. They said that they will sign it out maybe a week prior to the interview.

Calm down tat0601, Elgringo does have a valid point. The entry requirements for the cadet program (from what I've read here) take people ranging from no experience up to PPL level. On that scale of experience between applicants competing for a position; 10hrs might give an edge; but it also might not be enough to bring you over the line alone.
I remember with 10hrs at AFTC, I wasn't even ready for solo circuits, let alone a training area solo so at that stage of my training, my experience wouldn't have meant much, especially against applicants holding a PPL.
P.S. and I'd say that with Elgringo's experience, he IS better than me as a pilot. The fact that he has a license (I'm assuming, with all that heavy jet time) and I don't alone makes him a better pilot. Now I can't comment on his personality/morals/ethics/hygeine/etc etc and I may not like him, but due to his experience, he has my respect. Since this is a pilot focused forum, I'll leave it at that.
J.
tat0601 5th Apr 2011, 16:21 Drecian: Thanks for your opinion. My point is KA CPP is for perm HKID holders, and frankly HK ppl don't have much opportunity to have flying training. Btw KA states that no previous flying experience required, like if you got PPL, you may boost up your chance but there is not grantee that you get the job.
Experience is good, but what matter most is your personality and attitude.
What makes me angry is that his attitude, you won't apply if you don't think you got a chance. So, does he means that I shouldn't be disappoint that I didn't go through the next stage and feel thankful instead because of I didn't get my own license? Sound like he's on the top of the world just because he got all the license.
Nevertheless, this discussion is over and shall we go back to topics about KA recruitment?
sunny_liverpool 6th Apr 2011, 00:37 For the initial test, as we are required to reply to the invitation email to confirm our attendance to the TEST, will they also reply us to confirm it?
wongian 6th Apr 2011, 01:16 Sunny_Liverpool: No they won't. It's fine and you just have to show up at the allocated time slot for the test. Good luck mate. :)
sunny_liverpool 6th Apr 2011, 03:15 How many minutes are given for the numeracy test?:)30minutes!(holdmetight)
Drecian 6th Apr 2011, 03:26 sunny_liverpool:

I didn't get a reply to my RSVP for the initial test.
sunny_liverpool 6th Apr 2011, 23:46 i have attempted the oxford english placement test in my campus library yesterday, both listening and grammar. It is not as easy that I can assure to get >90% correct answers as it tests a wide range of grammar in 100 questions. For the listening part, it is comparatively easy.:)
However, the numeracy test is not difficult as well but requires enormous attention.
By the way, Any broad-mates will also have an initial test on 8April?
Pyromania 7th Apr 2011, 18:03 Hello,
Is anyone doing the Intial Tests on April 19?
Any suggestions on preparation for the tests?
I had been doing the tests acquired from Barclay Capital and Quantas. Some suggested GMAT would help, which I had been practicing too.
Any help would be appreciated!
sunny_liverpool: do you know where I can find the Oxford English Placement Test online?
Thanks in advance!

Hey,
I've also got the initial test on the 19th of April. Mine is at 0945; when is yours scheduled?
J.
superwills 8th Apr 2011, 07:37 Hi lads Nice to meet you! when did you submit your application and how long have you been waited for the notification of initial test? I'm wondering if I have missed the last initial test this year..
sunny_liverpool 8th Apr 2011, 09:45 Hiii all
I have finished the initial test today.
I am quite confident to the grammar and listening tests.
However, the 2nd part of listening is soooo difficult!!!!!! I think i can get only 2 to 4 correct answers. (out of 9 or 11)
The numeracy test is not difficult but time is very limited!
ShinkaiT 8th Apr 2011, 11:00 hi all~~ Did you guys receive the call for the first interview other than the one that will be held on 14 th April? I have been waiting for more than 1 week:rolleyes:

Mine is at 9:45 as well!
How are you preparing for it?
rmadrid 8th Apr 2011, 15:19 hi ShinkaiT

when did u take the aptitude test?
felixluihk 8th Apr 2011, 15:26 Hey ShinkaiT,
Not yet.
rmadrid, when did you take your AT? I did mine on 21/3
ShinkaiT 8th Apr 2011, 15:36 hi mates,
I did mine on 30/3.....time pass slowly:ugh:right? it's hard for us to wait and wait and wait>< 共勉之
rmadrid 8th Apr 2011, 15:46 i did mine on 24Mar

Hi J,
Mine is at 9:45 as well!
How are you preparing for it?
Hey Pyro,
I've just been doing some simple math calculations to improve my speed; since from what I've read here; that seems more to be the focus than advanced mathematical skills.
I'm pretty much a native English speaker and a stickler for grammatical correctness, so I'm not overly concerned about the English side of the test.
Out of curiosity, whereabouts are you flying in from? I'm assuming everyone in our/that test session will be internationals.
J.
Pyromania 9th Apr 2011, 02:10 Hi J,
I have been doing simple math calculations as well.
Doing math questions that involve graphs, tables and charts might be beneficial. Many companies use those types of math questions for screening applicants.
You're absolutely correct. Improving the speed is crucial. My cousin went through the numeracy test with CX and he told me the math won't be hard, but needs to be done quickly in order to finish the test.
I am flying in from Toronto. I was born in HK and migrated to Toronto when I was young. My english should be ok. But I'd like to think the test will be on the tough side so I am prepared for it.
Where are you flying in from?
Perhaps we can meet up after the test? (or before)
BTW.. I can't figure out how to "quote" when I reply...

Hey Pyro,
I was also born in HK, but I'm flying in from Adelaide, Aus. Meeting up before the test would be good. I arrive in HK in the evening on the 16th, so I have a few days to adjust before the test. I've sent you a PM with my details to get in touch.
P.S. to quote, I copy/paste the post then click the little speech bubble button to add the quote tags. Or just type the tags manually.

Hey J,
I am arriving on the 17th at 5am. Wish I could come back earlier. But need to finish some stuff before leaving Toronto.
I'll send you my contact in HK via PM.

wongian 9th Apr 2011, 05:24 ShinkaiT, rmadrid, felixluihk,
I did my AT on 31/3 and I haven't received a reply either.
ShinkaiT 9th Apr 2011, 07:29 hope we can all pass through it/3\~~~~cheers~~and keep in touch:D
myhitomi 11th Apr 2011, 02:01 I will attend the initial test on 29/4 at 0945. It seems like it is the last initial test according the schedule posted by them..
Have you got the email so far?
superwills 11th Apr 2011, 05:38 Nah haven't received yet. When did u submit the application? But yeah guess 29would be the last initial test and I'm not invited:(
Eishin 11th Apr 2011, 15:02 Hi guys ! Just did IT on 11th April. Screwed up the numeracy test. I just made wild guess for those complicated questions(like those fastest route questions haha). Wish you guys good luck for the upcoming assessments:ok:
myhitomi 12th Apr 2011, 06:29 I applied on 31/3 and KA got back to me on 5/4
jdurbridge 12th Apr 2011, 16:50 Hey guys,
Haven't been on the site much but just thought id write down a note saying that if any of you need some advice or help or anything for what ever you have coming up next with KA give me a message and ill try and get back to you as soon as i can. Ive just come back from flight grading and am now part of the DA 13 crew so no doubt ill be seeing a couple of you DA 14 lot soon enough down in adelaide!
If it helps i wouldnt stress out if you can prevent that. Just stay relaxed and be yourself. If you have no experience dont worry about it. Ive gone through it all having pretty much none. Infact a lot of DA 13 have almost 0 hours ... some with a short preview flight thing and others with 100 + so it ranges ... dont worry!
Looks like you have most things under control though so good luck to everyone. DA 13 dont leave till mid may so if you guys fancy meeting up with some of us for drinks or something i could try and sort something with the group.
Jason
Pyromania 12th Apr 2011, 17:11 Hi jdurbridge,
Congratulations in making the cut!
My initial test will be this coming Tuesday.
Any last minute tips on the Numaracy Test?
What type of questions should we expect? (I have gone through the forum, but don't seem to be able to find the details...)
All I am doing is simple math to get up to speed...
Thanks and good luck!
aile_striker 14th Apr 2011, 01:37 Hi guys!
I've too applied for KACPP and i'll be doing my IT on 19/4. How's everyone finding the math test? I've heard from too many sources saying the math test is impossible to finish and it's hard.
FelixLo 14th Apr 2011, 05:56 Done my 1st interview today.
It's only 25 mins, dun know why so short
Any bros interviewed today?
FelixLo 14th Apr 2011, 07:23 Pyromania (http://www.pprune.org/members/352103-pyromania) : My suggestion is to be very fast when calculation speed and time problems. The relationship like km/h and mins, for example 1/3 hr is 20 mins. It sounds meaningless right?? But it helps
sunny_liverpool 14th Apr 2011, 08:47 no news is bad news?
it seems that nobody gets called for the aptitude test after finishing the initial test since 8April??
FelixLo 14th Apr 2011, 09:58 I was so surprised as they said at the begining that the interview would be 30-40mins
ShinkaiT 14th Apr 2011, 11:14 My friend told me before~~longer = better~
ShinkaiT 14th Apr 2011, 11:16 anyone else got the call for the first interview? 2 weeks already:bored:
jdurbridge 14th Apr 2011, 12:36 @<hidden>;
Thanks mate, well the initial test is pretty straight forward really. English part is simple spelling and picking the right word for each question. If you speak english on a daily basis you will be fine. Numercy part, like aile_striker said is almost impossible to finish. If they havent changed it since i did mine then it should be 9 sections with about 4 / 5 questions in each section to be done in i think it was 30 minutes .... so thats about 45 questions ish. doing that simple math thats more than 1 per minute .... from what i got told by some family friends who are part of CX and KA they told me to stay calm and just do as much as i can, dont rush, dont guess. So i finished 3 sections out of the 9 and got through, while other guys that i talked to after finished all 9 by guessing some and didnt make it. Taking a guess ... i think they want right answers rather then someone who finishes all the questions with guesses. I wouldnt speed through it though :ok:
In regards to interviews i remember both the HR and Tech interview to be an hour. Just remember the more you have to say the less they can ask you. e.g. if they ask you about KA and the company say EVEYRTHING about it. Talk about management, talk about the planes they have, where they fly to, what engines they have. go into as much detail as you can really, if you dont they will just ask you about it anyway but i guess the more confident you are with talking about it the more impressed they will be.
felixluihk 14th Apr 2011, 16:24 Hey guys! I just got the call for the first interview which will be on 27/4.
ShinkaiT: No worries mate, I did my AT on 21/3 and only just got the call today so my guess is that you'll need to wait for at least another week.
Just don't ever lose hope!!!
ShinkaiT 14th Apr 2011, 17:36 Congrats mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot for your encouragement/3\
hope I can have a chance and even meet you in the second interview bro~
fingercross:)
tat0601 14th Apr 2011, 18:13 Mine interview is about the same length as yours, I was told that it will last for abt 45mins....
Wow, fingercross:bored:
kelvinhei007 14th Apr 2011, 18:26 Hi there,
From what I gathered, Numerical test involves:
1.Speed/time questions
2.Flight route calculation
3.Charts and table
4.Fuel calculation
anyone can shed some light what more to expect?
Are we going to be given pen and paper to calculate?
or the possbility of calculator:}?
FelixLo 15th Apr 2011, 01:41 Tat: btw, they said we will know the result by coming Monday!
Pyromania 15th Apr 2011, 03:16 FelixLo:
Thanks for the tip! I have been improving my speed for the past while. I will continue on doing so until the test. BTW, were the questions hard?
jdurbridge:
I do speak English on a daily basis, so I hope (as you said) I will do alright on the English Test! I will make sure I get the answers correct. What would you say the difficulty of the math test was? Anything that was very complicated?
A relative of mine working for CX also told me it's very hard to finish all of them. Just make sure I get the right answers and do as much as I can.
As for the interview, I believe the first one is the HR interview (correct me if I am wrong). I had been researching about the company for the past couple months. I even went and analyzed their financial statements (out of curiosity).
Any questions that you thought was hard to answer?
Thanks again!
TRKDCTBEKOL 15th Apr 2011, 03:19 Hi all bros!
I applied KA CPP last year but failed at the apt test because of the faulty joystick!
Applied again mid-March this year and did the apt test a week ago, now waiting for the call for 1st interview. ;)
Let's work hard and meet at Parafield!
Bekol
FelixLo 15th Apr 2011, 03:38 The questions are not very hard but tedious, if you are fast using pen and paper to solve simple maths, it will be fine!
Pyromania 15th Apr 2011, 18:27 I see...
I am good with Pen and Paper, so let's hope everything goes well!
Thanks for you advice!!
jdurbridge 16th Apr 2011, 04:24 @<hidden>
yea im pretty sure you will be fine for the english and icao. examples are like "the dog ate/eight his food" and you pick the right word haha.
Maths wasnt hard math so dont worry about that too much. Its like percentages and working out how much fuel is burnt on different routes and working out which ones more efficient. All simple add or subtract math in my eyes.
As for the HR interview which you are right and is the first one. It is all about you. Its all about why you want to be a pilot what you are doing how it will help you become a pilot how you will be down in adelaide for 60 weeks etc etc.
They will ask some questions about the company depending on who takes it but i didnt get any whilst other people did. Make sure you know names of management. Seeing as you have been looking up on it the last month or how ever long i doubt you will have problems just sort of reference everything you have done into how it can and will help you become a good pilot.
The tech interview is where everything about KA will be asked. Management, planes, engines etc.
Good luck! let me know if you have any more questions
Pyromania 16th Apr 2011, 21:10 jdurbridge:
Thanks for the info!
Now I feel less anxious. I will definitely try my best on the tests!
I'll let you know if I have more questions.
Thanks again!
flyercct 19th Apr 2011, 11:13 Nice to meet you guys,
I'd like to know if anyone's heading for the AT on 21 April(Thursday)?
I did my IT on 15April and got called today.
Cheers
Eishin 19th Apr 2011, 12:24 may i ask wt is the first four number of the call? or it didnt show the number?
sunny_liverpool 19th Apr 2011, 12:36 Eishin,
the first four numbers are 3193
Eishin 19th Apr 2011, 12:52 thx sunny! i still didnt get called. :\
rmadrid 20th Apr 2011, 06:02 hi guys, i just received invitation for 1st interview..it will be on 30Apr! :ok: i did my AT on 24 Mar...good luck all
from what I've noticed, someone here did the AT on 21 Mar and got the invitation on 15 Apr...so there's a 3 working days difference between my AT and his (21 vs 24 Mar), as well as the call dates (15 vs 20 Apr)
tho it's hypothetical...hopes these could act as reference to you all
simly 20th Apr 2011, 06:36 Had my first interview today, too nervous finger-cross i guess
rmadrid 20th Apr 2011, 06:40 hi simly good luck to your first! Would you share about your interview today??
simly 20th Apr 2011, 07:36 mostly is about HR related questions, they also ask me about Dragonair and the training in FTA.
TRKDCTBEKOL 20th Apr 2011, 14:07 Hi all,
Got call today for the 1st interview on 6/5, i did my apt on 6/4.
Hope to see you guys in DA14. Good luck. :ok:
Bekol
hello!
Just wanna see hows everyone preparing their tech in? I have heard in the past that people prepared years for this!
I mean I am going through different aircraft, aircraft systems, engine types and aerodynamic stuff...but dont really have an idea how in-depth i should go! I understand that the more you know the better chance u get..but this is kind of endless...:S
andrewnorris1987 20th Apr 2011, 23:26 Hi guys,
Applied for the CX cadet program with the preference of a Sydney (Aust) interview. Just want to know if anyone has had any news from CX on the Syd interviews?
Pyromania 21st Apr 2011, 00:57 Hi guys,
Just did my IT 2 days ago. Got called yesterday for the AT on Apr 28.
jdurbridge, FelixLo, guys.. can you shed some light on what to expect on the AT? I heard it's controlling a sim with two joysticks and at the same time answering questions popping onto the screen... is that right?
How did you guys prepare for it?
andrewnorris1987: you might want to post your question in the CX board. Probably will get more answers there.
Thanks guys!
myhitomi 21st Apr 2011, 01:18 Glad to hear you've got through the initial test..
How did you find it? Is the numeracy test that hard?
thx
ps I will have mine on 29/4
ShinkaiT 21st Apr 2011, 02:01 Hi guys~I am going to have my first interview on 30/4
rmadrid 21st Apr 2011, 03:55 ShinkaiT: what time is your interview? mine is at 13:40
VinnieC 21st Apr 2011, 07:02 Anyone else did their Initial on the 19th but still waiting for a response? :hmm:
at3105 21st Apr 2011, 09:44 Hi ShinkaiT!!
just wonder when did u receive the call for first interview??
Cheers^^
VinnieC 21st Apr 2011, 10:02 The numeric test wasn't hard, but given the time limit time is rather tight and each question is time consuming.
Pyromania 21st Apr 2011, 15:33 myhitomi:
Thanks!
The numeracy test was not hard, but very very time consuming. I was not able to finish it. I just picked out the shortest ones from each section. This way I would have finished as much as I could.
Some suggested the airline might be trying to see if one can manage their time in answering as many as possible, or one would just drill on one question... Wild guess though, but sounded possible.
Though I wished we had 40 minutes for math and 30 minutes for English. The English test was much easier in comparison.
How are you preparing for AT?
VinnieC 22nd Apr 2011, 02:04 Does anyone know the approx call time for overseas application for AT after IT? Today is holiday so I guess it's next week or never:suspect:
VinnieC 22nd Apr 2011, 04:06 Given the AT schedule is 26-29th, if no call on next Tues/Wed, it's safe to say I flunk the IT, which was not hard.....but I flunk it :=
Well, back to Van to finish up my CPL :}
rmadrid 27th Apr 2011, 04:40 KA HR called and re-arranged my HR interview to 7 May...
ShinkaiT: do you have to reschedule the interview as well?
felixluihk 27th Apr 2011, 16:12 Hey guys, just wanted to update you with my progress. I did my HR interview today and was called up to do the ICAO English test tomorrow a couple of hours later.
Here are a few questions I was asked in the interview today:
1) Introduce yourself, then they will ask you for evidence for what you have said about yourself. (i.e. if you say you are a responsible/ reliable person, hobbies you do, etc...)
2) What would you do if you fail to get in the CPP again?
3) What have you done/ improvements have you made since you failed last time?
4) Are your parents supportive?
They were the main topics we discussed in the interview and they did ask a little details about my answers as well. The interview only lasted for about 30 mins in total. I'll post some more questions out if I remember anymore, hope this will help.
GOOD LUCK!!!
VinnieC: Dun give up just yet... i did my IT on the 19th as well and I was called yesterday to have the AT on the 30th so the schedule they gave u are not necessary accurate. Btw r u from Van as well ?
myhitomi 29th Apr 2011, 07:29 Anyone did the IT today like me?
How did you guys find it?
I was able to finish 14 /20 of the maths questions, guessed the rest.
Missed 2 questions in the in-house listening but have written something

kelvinhei007 3rd May 2011, 10:24 Anyone had their Initial test on 19 April or after that already had their first interview?
Drecian 3rd May 2011, 13:00 kelvinhei007:
Anyone had their Initial test on 19 April or after that already had their first interview?
Here was the timeline that I did my tests in;
Tues April 19th - Initial test
- Called Wed 20th for aptitute test invite
Tues Apr 26th - Aptitude test
- Called Wed 27th for HR interview invite
Thurs Apr 28th - HR interview
- Called Fri 29th for ICAO test invite
Tues May 3rd - ICAO test
I'm an international, so they are probably trying to squeeze everything into a shorter period.
J.
rmadrid 3rd May 2011, 15:17 hey, how's your ICAO english test? was that similar to yours last time?
toey118 3rd May 2011, 18:58 i'm an international applicant and i got called up to do the AT on the same day as u (28/4 - but at 3:30pm), did u end up getting a 1st interview call up?
the guy at the AT told me they would get back to me by phone asap within 3-4 days (and im assuming its 3-4 working days), but the thing is that sunday and monday were public holidays....
so should i have gotten the call back for 1st interview by now? or do i wait another 1-2 days?
its just confusing because on the schedule they sent me, 1st interview is down for May 3rd and May 4th.
cheers,
Toey =]
felixluihk 4th May 2011, 17:05 rmadrid:
Hey, the examiner told me that I passed but I still haven't got any call from KA yet. This is only the first time I did the ICAO english test coz the last time I got this far was in 2008, and they didn't have this test back then. How about you? Any news yet?
mc da king:
Don't worry, my friend did the ICAO about 3 weeks ago and he still haven't been called up for the next stage. He did however, called up KA and found out that he has passed the ICAO but they haven't scheduled the 2nd stage interview. Also, on the KA web, it says that 2nd stage interview would be in May-June and it is only 5/5 today.
rmadrid 5th May 2011, 04:38 felixluihk: i will have HR interview this Saturday! did u get call up for ICAO test soon after HR interview?
kelvinhei007 5th May 2011, 10:06 hey Toey,
have you heard from KA?
felixluihk 5th May 2011, 12:34 rmadrid: Yes, they told me at the end of the interview that I would get their call by the next day if I was successful, but I got the call a couple of hours after the interview. They probably called me so quickly because they wanted me to do the ICAO on the next day, but I'm sure that won't happen to you as the next day for you would be Sunday so don't worry.
Also, I met a guy at my ICAO test and he has just been called up for the 2nd stage interview this afternoon. His medical check is like next week, the technical interview and group interview is a couple of weeks later.
GOOD LUCK! Let me know how it goes.
toey118 5th May 2011, 17:55 @<hidden> da king:
this was what they gave me:
Initial test (19 April 11)
Aptitude test (26 - 29 April 11)
First interview (28 April 11 / 3 May 11 / 4 May 11)
ICAO English Language Proficiency Assessment (3 May 11 / 6 May 11)
Second interview (Jun 11)
@<hidden>:

myhitomi 7th May 2011, 01:19 Anyone did the IT on 29/4 has been given a time for AT?
I'm still waiting for the call..
rmadrid 7th May 2011, 10:59 hey guys, i just had the HR interview today...the questions were similar to what @<hidden> posted before...with a few more below:
1) What do you know about Dragonair?
2) I don't see you have many flying-related activities listed, what else have you done?
3) Why do u like flying?
They said that they will call me by Monday if i am successful~~ finger-crossing!
Good luck everyone! :)
felixluihk 8th May 2011, 05:53 Hey guys,
A couple of us will be having our group interview on 26/5 and would like to meet up before hand. Are there anyone else in that group (or other groups) who would like to meet up with us? If there are, please PM me!
GOOD LUCK!
jackyhk18 8th May 2011, 09:38 I will have my technical interview on 8 Jun and group excerise on the 9th. Anyone here is on the same schedule? Please PM me if you're interested to meet up before the thing.

rmadrid 9th May 2011, 10:50 hey guys...out of curiosity...does anyone receive calls from KA? no matter it's for IT, AT, HR...etc?? Thanks
myhitomi 9th May 2011, 11:26 I have been waiting for their call for AT since my IT on 29/4..but no luck so far
Why are you asking this?
You think they are not calling people for some reasons?
CharlesAu 10th May 2011, 00:35 Hi All,
Is there anyone that has been or is going to the second interview can give an insight as to what it's about?
Thanks
Charles
rmadrid 10th May 2011, 04:10 myhitomi: i'm waiting for the call for ICAO test, just wonder if they really call ppl when they said they would...i was told i would be called up by Monday...but they didn't...either I failed or they didn't call ppl on Monday~~~ :ugh:
how do u guys think?
flying_camel 10th May 2011, 04:35 I think the ICAO examiner is busy. Dun worry too much and get yourself well preped;)
myhitomi 10th May 2011, 05:12 Do you guys know if there is any AT still ongoing?
Anyone doing their group on 9th? Please drop me a pm!

kkhtsang 12th May 2011, 07:49 myhitomi
Hi..I did my IT on April 19th.
myhitomi 12th May 2011, 09:58 Are you overseas applicant?
I just wonder if KA will give priority to overseas applicant to do AT ....
as I'm a local applicant and got no news from KA and this forum...
losing my patience now
kkhtsang 12th May 2011, 10:31 myhitomi
Yes I am from oversea..Its already two weeks after my AT but I am still hoping they will call back..Good luck to you:ok:
kkhtsang 12th May 2011, 10:36 Yes I am a overseas applicant.
Pyromania 12th May 2011, 17:00 Hey Toey,
Sorry for the late response.
I got the call for my first interview the next day after AT. But some of my friends waited a couple days more.
I hope you have done your interview by now and able to progress.
Unfortunately, they rejected me after my first interview.
I am going to try to find out what I did wrong.
Just an FYI... it seems KA asked most of you the same questions, about yourself, failing CPP etc.
However, I was asked "Tell me something about Dragonair" as well. Luckily, I had that prepared. They asked me quite a few corporate questions.. perhaps it has something to do with my working experience and background?
Guys/Gals that are still hanging in there.. GOOD LUCK!!
I will have to wait for 12 months before I can re-apply....

Drecian 13th May 2011, 05:02 Hey guys,
Anyone here an overseas applicant and did the ICAO english test on the 3rd/6th May?
Anyone recieved a call/email back about it yet?
J.
aile_striker 16th May 2011, 07:14 Hi guys
I finished my AT on 5/5 and I got an email from KA today, they saying due to the number of applicants, they want to transfer my application for either MPL or DA15.
But since KA's MPL program is the first for them, would you suggest I take it or not? usually it'd take a while for them to run things and amend it.
From what I understand, the MPL does seem like an accelerated program and it looks like it's more suited for the the "real-world" as opposed to the normal CPP.
But my concern is what will this MPL give me? i've read the MPL is convertible to a PPL/CPL/ATPL. but i've also read elsewhere that all you get from this program is the MPL, and it goes on to say i cannot fly alone, meaning if my flying partner is incapacitated, i'm illegal to fly?
Career path wise, does it offer a slightly different career path?
is anyone else given the same choice?
myhitomi 16th May 2011, 07:30 Would you mind telling me when did you do your initial test?
Eishin 16th May 2011, 07:48 aile_striker,
I received that email too. I didn't even get into the AT. I thought I don't have chance anymore but end up getting this email after my IT 1 month ago.
nikeair123 16th May 2011, 14:26 The KA requirements states you must have a HK Permanent ID card, but what if you only have a HK ID card which is not permanent?
Can you still apply?
MrCrawford 17th May 2011, 07:26 Permenant Residence is required to apply.
Gyros 17th May 2011, 08:34 aile_striker, eishin,
same here. IT one month ago and received this email.
not sure the career path difference between the 2 choices.
nikeair123 17th May 2011, 11:43 MrCrawford, if that's the case, permanent residence that means you must have 3 stars on the HK ID card before I can apply.
I have none on my card, that now means I have no chance getting in.
myhitomi 18th May 2011, 02:07 anyone got the email to ask you to consider either MPL or DA15 after Monday?
aile_striker 18th May 2011, 05:39 Re:myhitomi
I did my IT on 19/4 and my AT on 5/5
aile_striker 18th May 2011, 05:40 I got that same email on monday
Gyros 20th May 2011, 10:01 Regarding this email, what do you guys usually choose between MPL or DA15?
CharlesAu 20th May 2011, 11:19 Hey guys,
Got the final interview coming up soon, has any current applicants already been? Can you share some of your experience of those 2 days (ie, the interview, test, lunch and GP Ex.)
Thanks
sunny_liverpool 20th May 2011, 13:00 If we choose MPL, will we need to do the initial test again?
happycloud 20th May 2011, 15:12 I will have second interview (tech interview, group ex, lunch, personality test) on 14 and 16 June.
Anyone the same? Even we r not on the same date, maybe we can meet up to prepare together too!
MrCrawford 21st May 2011, 02:24 Tech - if you have little flying experience, if you know how an engine works, parts of the plane, a bit about hong kong weather (humidity, winds, temperature, climate) you should be good to go. The more experience you have, the more they expect. If you have your ppl, expect some questions on airlaw, cruising altitudes etc.
Group exercise - be supportive of one another, build on each other ideas, ensure to keep open communication if you decide to split the work up and do not argue, but discuss. There is no limit to how many they accept from each interview group, so do not think it's dog eat dog.
Group lunch - ask questions not found on the website, that makes you look very unprepared. Find out how it's like living in hong kong as a captain, SO, etc.
Personality test - just making sure you aren't seeing ghosts or aliens. Don't over think it ahahah.
Search this thread, you'll find examples for group exercise.
Good luck and have FUN at the interview date. If you aren't having fun with your peers, you won't have fun while training ;D
Cheers,
MrJ
aile_striker 21st May 2011, 03:29 gyros: i'm still deciding.. have you decided? deadline is approaching.
sunny liverpool: i dont think so if you've passed your initial test. btw, have you decided yet?
sunny_liverpool 21st May 2011, 10:34 i will choose MPL but I was told by a boardmate that all of us are pending to the initial test no mater we choose MPL or DA15. if this is true, i have no ideas for the reason.
however, to be honest, i think i did pretty bad on the 2nd listening and maths tests.
mfew3 23rd May 2011, 07:38 when do you choose MPL or DA15?, is not on the application. Is it after the interviews?
thanks
Gyros 23rd May 2011, 09:50 aile_striker: i chose DA15 since i'm still not sure about the career path with MPL. it may be better, or may be worse. just to be more secured for choosing DA15...
mfew3: at out stage, we did at least the Initial Test and we received the email which transfers our application to later programme and needs us to choose MPL or DA15
mfew3 24th May 2011, 03:30 thanks Gyros, one more question. How were your grades?. cause i good grades, but i don't know why i cant even get an interview? i apply last last week, and i know the deadline is may31. how long did you have to wait to get the interview email. or do you think DA already have enough participants? thank you.
Gyros 24th May 2011, 14:13 mfew3: ummm u mean the grade in the KA test? really not sure what we got..but it sounds like they have enough candidates for DA14 already
mfew3 24th May 2011, 15:10 no. i mean the application. I still didn't get an initial interview yet? just wondering how long did you wait for the email? thanks
Gyros 24th May 2011, 23:16 mfew3: it took me just one week or two.. but if u have any doubt about the application, perhaps just email them and ask. the HR is quite nice ;)
myhitomi 25th May 2011, 02:33 KA 14 is full?
Do you think KA will contact those who are not qualified for the MPL (e.g. have more than 10 flight hours) but haven't failed any stage of the selection process?
And let them directly enroll into DA15?
14182 25th May 2011, 04:46 mfew3: you might want to check the junk mail box of your e-mail a/c
last time I applied for both CX and KA on the same day, and I hadn't heard from KA yet even though I was already preparing for the 2nd stage for CX's CPP, then one day out of nowhere, I clicked on the junk mail box and I found an e-mail from KA saying I have to attend the initial around in 2 days' time...
Konbini 25th May 2011, 10:56 Hey!
I've passed my initial interviews, passed ICAO (last year for CX), and am still waiting for them to call for med/next round interviews.
whoa - so there's apparently a chance that I'll be nudged to DA-15 then huh..
Qwerty01 29th May 2011, 16:39 hey happycloud :)
im having social lunch on the 16th aswell. pls check ur PM! :ok:
myhitomi 30th May 2011, 02:58 I have got the email from KA saying they will transfer my application to DA15 only ...
Who else got the same email?
sunny_liverpool 30th May 2011, 04:43 myhtiomi,
do you have more than 10 hours flying experience?
myhitomi 30th May 2011, 05:34 Yes, I have 15 hours
FelixLo 31st May 2011, 09:02 Going for 2nd interview on 15, 16 June.
Anyone the same?
Konbini 31st May 2011, 10:57 Am still waiting for my call

n wish everybody best of luck!!!!!!!
Qwerty01 2nd Jun 2011, 01:32 Hey Samsungcx, judycwi, Felixlo & happycloud,
Pls check ur PM:)
Konbini 2nd Jun 2011, 06:23 Hey!
I'm doing mines on the 6th & 7th of July. :)
Konbini 4th Jun 2011, 09:34 Anyone having theirs in July?
For those doing it in June, all the best!! :)
mrdickguy 10th Jun 2011, 01:13 Anyone got invited to the July 14 initial test? Any insight on what the math test would include?
myhitomi 10th Jun 2011, 01:50 is your initial test for MPL or DA15?
thx
mrdickguy 10th Jun 2011, 02:25 the one I got invited for is MPL CPP
mrdickguy 10th Jun 2011, 02:26 Have you done the initial interview already?
rxsazabi 10th Jun 2011, 03:01 I got initial testing on June 17, I'm also worrying about the math test, not sure what kind of math they are testing.
Haven't done any math problem for a long time :(
14182 10th Jun 2011, 09:23 I'm doing the 13th June initial test for MPL CPP, the maths test (I think) is simple data interpretation test, 33 questions in 30 mins (I saw it from others, so no guarantee as to the accuracy of the info), and they don't expect you to be able to finish it (unless you're lucky enough to receive a question booklet that already has answers circled)
MrCrawford 12th Jun 2011, 02:27 Try to do as many as accurately as you can. Quality over quantity.... with a fine balance of course.
Do some investment banking aptitude testing questions. Those are good sample. Mainly to do with percentage increases, graph reading, fuel consumption, range + time questions.
nikeair123 12th Jun 2011, 21:28 Thats means I cannot apply since I only have a normal HKID card and not the HK permanent ID card.
But I would like to know how do foreigners get in without a permanent ID card?
MrCrawford 13th Jun 2011, 05:23 Their parents worked in Hong Kong >5 years and they were born in HK could be one reason.
rxsazabi 16th Jun 2011, 09:35 Been practicing my math, I found this web site pretty helpful: Numeracy Test (http://www.kent.ac.uk/careers/tests/mathstest.htm)
27 questions and you have 30 mins to complete it.
Hopeful the initial test is somewhat like the example I linked
fly_kid 17th Jun 2011, 13:38 Hi,
I'll be doing my technical interview and group exercise on July 6th and 7th. Anyone the same out there?
Konbini 18th Jun 2011, 15:28 Heylo, I will be having mines on the same dates too =)
CharlesAu 25th Jun 2011, 05:38 Can any past or current KA cadets give some info on the flight grading stage? Is it the same as what has been said from the people at CX CPP.
I also want to know the T&Cs of a KA cadet. Again is it the same as CX? if so, then forget it, i already know what that contract is like. If its different, please let me know what's different.
Thank you
dpamember 25th Jun 2011, 13:47 As a Cadet joining KA, unlike cadets joining CX, you will not receive:
1. The Hong Kong Pilot Allowance. Instead you will receive a Special Allowance which is inferior in comparison.
2. The Child Education Allowance.
3. A Discretionary 13th Month. Whilst KA pilots are contractually guaranteed a 13th month, if you look at it in terms of annual salary (CX has a higher monthly basic pay) then they are similar, hence a CX pilot is always ahead should he receive a 13th month.
dpamember 25th Jun 2011, 13:50 By the way, unlike CX, there's no new aircraft order.
Ever since 2006 KA has retrenched rather than expanded. Food for thought!
CharlesAu 26th Jun 2011, 01:59 dpamember:
Cheers for that info. Clearly the difference is a lot more than i had expected.
mrdickguy 28th Jun 2011, 10:32 Anyone going to the initial test around July 14 in hong kong? We should get together to help each other out! Msg me if any of you are interested!
untold_distortion 30th Jun 2011, 17:02 hey guys n girls,
i also have the first numeracy x english test on the same day
perhaps we could set a day to discuss and exchange information on the
assessments that will come up
untold_distortion 30th Jun 2011, 17:06 Just wondering if anyone could link me to the most recent and correct KA and CX info?, im not totally savvy with this forum yet :) thanks
MrCrawford 1st Jul 2011, 10:14 Not to burst your bubble, but you should read the CX CPP and KA Recruitment from page 1.
It will answer ALL your questions. Only takes 2 hours at most for a chance at a life long career.
flying_camel 2nd Jul 2011, 07:47 For MPL cadet programme, "Skills Assessment" = KA's in-house "Aptitude Test" or OAA "Skills Assessment"?http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/confused.gifhttp://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/confused.gif
Drecian 4th Jul 2011, 15:03 Does anyone here have any knowledge (or guesses) as to roughly how many applicants the let through each stsage of selection (IT/AT/1st interview/tech interview/flight grading)?
:ok:
CharlesAu 4th Jul 2011, 23:47 I dont believe there is a fixed number for each stage. Quality is more important than quantity.
mrdickguy 5th Jul 2011, 05:06 I think who ever qualifies goes through. Its not like we are all fighting for a limited spot.
AAIGUY 5th Jul 2011, 08:47 Life long career? Thats funny.
Guys here now with conditions of service 10 X better than yours will be, want out. Company loves it, replacing us expensive expats with slave labour.
Don't reckon any of you will be in HK longer than 4-5 years as you'll soon realize that you're making the same money as Senior Cabin Crew.
I know everyone's got a dream, but let me tell you, this is a mirage. Once you get here, it fades quickly.
MrCrawford 6th Jul 2011, 06:13 @<hidden>
Your comment would make sense in the Cathay CPP. KA accepts permanent residents. You already live in Hong Kong or have some sort of connection with the city.
And congrats to the 30 flightgraders coming to Adelaide. See you soon.
Cheers,
MrJ
Drecian 6th Jul 2011, 16:20 And congrats to the 30 flightgraders coming to Adelaide. See you soon.
You've already been told you're through to flight grading for DA14?
Or you're already at FTA?
Or a flight grader?
Sorry, the "See you soon" part kind of threw me.
P.S. I just had the tech interview today, which is why I'm asking.
Cheers,
J.
MrCrawford 7th Jul 2011, 07:10 my apologies, I am in FTA and was casually talking about the # of gradees coming to FTA in 3 weeks time.
untold_distortion 8th Jul 2011, 05:31 Dear Mr Crawford,
hey thanks.
for the Cathay thread did you mean this one?
http://www.pprune.org/fragrant-harbour-wannabes/378978-cathay-pacific-cadet-pilot-programme.html
could you post the links for both the Cathay one and Dragonair one or PM me?
im not confident with where everything is on the forum yet :)
Cheers and hope to see you at FTA soon
mrdickguy 14th Jul 2011, 05:18 Did my initial test today n boy it was sooooo hard! Math test was crazy. Did 9/20 questions.... Prob won't make it
jackyhk18 15th Jul 2011, 02:55 Don't you worry, its suppose to be like that, no one ever finish the math papar.
MrCrawford 15th Jul 2011, 04:08 Hahah, Vancouver seems to be producing quite a few cadets for Dragonair. As long as your answers were correct, 9/20 is better than 18 guesses.
Some people do finish it!
Cheers,
MrJ
mrdickguy 15th Jul 2011, 10:15 Just got my call today for first interview!! Yup I think they really prefer 9/20 more thaN 18 guesses! N ya there were 3 candidates from van in my group and a couple from Toronto!
14182 16th Jul 2011, 04:23 lol~guesses for me :ugh:
Konbini 18th Jul 2011, 07:11 Thanks Mr. J!
I'll be in the August 08 batch and looking forward to seeing you guys. :ok:
Yea! DA14 seems to be one big group.
myhitomi 20th Sep 2011, 05:20 look like KA has resumed the selection process of CPP as I have received their call for apptitude test today...
P.S. I did initial test in April
felixluihk 22nd Sep 2011, 12:25 That's correct, I just heard from the HR earlier this week. Good luck with the test and interviews!
LouisC 25th Sep 2011, 15:31 Hi all,
I am new to this forum. Comments have been really helpful. I applied to KA on 14/9/11, I will keep you updated with my progress.
Thanks,
Lou
myhitomi 28th Sep 2011, 05:55 Anyone done the aptitude test recently?
LouisC 29th Sep 2011, 04:29 Not yet. But I have my IT on Monday, the 3rd. Hoping it's straight forward maths and english tests.
rcswing 29th Sep 2011, 18:18 LouisC, good luck ! ... that was quite quick you got call up for stage 1.
Cheers,
LouisC 30th Sep 2011, 05:35 Thank you rcswing :) Have you applied?
eaglei 30th Sep 2011, 07:03 Is there anyone knows about KA's crew leave entitlement? Is it a generous one compared to other major airlines? How flexible to arrange annual leave with the company? Cheers!
rcswing 1st Oct 2011, 07:15 LouisC, just applied last week 25th ...hope u will do well on it ...please share with us how it goes afterwards. Cheers!
LouisC 5th Oct 2011, 09:40 I had my IT at 9:45 3/10/2011. Like previous posts suggested, the test involved straight forward english grammer and listening tests. And a maths tests (interrupting charts/graphs/diagrams). Has anyone had an AT or heard back from their IT. Thanks
myhitomi 5th Oct 2011, 13:55 I did AT on 27/9
They said they will contact successful candidates in 4 weeks
Anyone else did AT recently?
LouisC 5th Oct 2011, 14:47 They said 6 weeks to me.
rcswing 5th Oct 2011, 17:06 I am having my IT on 19th... anyone else ?
snnx27 8th Oct 2011, 04:57 hey louisC have you heard back from the aptitude test yet? i had initial test on 3rd oct too :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
LouisC 8th Oct 2011, 09:28 still no news....
viviwing 9th Oct 2011, 10:51 Hi there, I am new to this forum.
I will also get the initial test on 19th Oct...do you know what will be include in the english test and numeric test?
thanks and good luck to you all :ok::ok:
snnx27 9th Oct 2011, 14:21 they said 6 weeks right? im sure they're still marking the papers :S:ouch:
rcswing 9th Oct 2011, 15:59 You can check out post #21 in this thread... i think they should be pretty much the same if they haven't change the format.
Are you doing in the morning 0945? PM me if you don't mind to meet up~
rcswing 10th Oct 2011, 15:15 I guess I'm pretty much on the same line as well... people in here say is a bit hard as you are being timed and it's normal that you wouldn't finish all of it.. advices are to practice some mental maths and it might speed up a bit ..
Good luck!
clubsoda 11th Oct 2011, 05:53 Anymore detail info abt the test??
thz
viviwing 11th Oct 2011, 07:12 Hi there,
you can refer to the comment # 21 on page 2 and there is quite useful information for the initial test:ok:
nice to meet you and good luck...
PS: haha...I am also the one to have the initial test on 19th Oct...
snnx27 11th Oct 2011, 15:31 Hey louisC, heard anything from KA yet? aptitude test? I still haven't... you?
viviwing 12th Oct 2011, 05:41 Do you guys think that we needa wear suits for the initial test?
Dan Buster 12th Oct 2011, 05:54 Do you guys think that we needa wear suits for the initial test
nah, why would you want to wear a suit? It's not as if you're trying to present yourself as a professional or anything. Just show up in your baggy, saggy jeans, high fivin' and fist bumpin' all the interviewers and testers! :ugh:
(How can these guys aspire to be airline pilots if they can't even use their common sense on what to wear to a job interview?)
clubsoda 12th Oct 2011, 08:04 thz so much for the info
Cleared for take-off 12th Oct 2011, 10:14 Hey all,
Just wanna know if anyone in here have applied as a Pre-Qualified Cadet? Anyone did their flying or ATPL in Australia? (can you please PM me if so)
Any idea on the success rate of passing all interview then accepted into Dragon compared to the number of candidates who are short-listed to the first interview?
Thanks in advance, all the best to everyone :ok:
lkcmss2000 12th Oct 2011, 11:55 I applied the PQC and got reply last week....

boocs 12th Oct 2011, 13:04 Get a job, save some money, pay for 30 more hours... meet their minimum requirements!! You can do it!!
