guys as we know both airlines Qatar airways and fly dubai needs pilot,,right??

at qatar airways website the requirements for first officer

2000 hours and if you have NG experience you be conceder for the Boeing 777

at flydubai website the requirements for first officer

2500 hours

so tell me guys why anyone with 2500 hours will apply 4 flydubai instead of applying for qatarairways and have the chance to fly the wide body aircraft

I mean what's up with the 2500 hr????
most of the airlines looking for pilots with 1500 hours,, why fly dubai 2500

are they trying to tell the passengers we only hired the most experienced pilot consequently you are safe.:confused:

anyone to explain :ugh::ugh:

Because those are the minimums to be CONSIDERED for employment- you write as if you think it's a sure thing.

Have a search around these fora as to working for and living in Qatar as opposed to Dubai, plus the fact you will be upgraded faster at FlyDubai, hence the more rigorous requirements.

Then stow the attitude, and learn where the SHIFT key is on your key-board!

CALM DOWN Wizofoz IT'S NOT LIKE YOU ARE THE OWNER OF FLYDUBAI
DON'T PERSONALIZE THE D'''N THREAD
IT'S ABOUT QATAR AIRWAYS AND FLY DUBAI NOT ABOUT YOU AND ME

anyway thank's for explaining :ok:

do you really think that passengers get to know exactly what level of experience the pilots have and they actually know what level of experience is actually high or low?

actually my question was more like sarcasm than a real question:)

the sarcasm and attitude that is found within your post is not something that people around here would appreciate, and also reveals the level of basic knowledge for whys and hows. To be quite frank, you'll find it extremely difficult to make a go of it in Qatar Airways. I've seen kids like you come and go from this place faster than i can blink my eyes.
after you get more experience Go to Fly Dubai... please.:D

The min requirements for FlyDubai are higher prob because they are a new airline looking for some experience within the airline and guys they can upgrade to command quickly. Which airline to go to would depend on what you long term plans are. If you plan to go to the ME for only a couple of years i'd go for the quick command possibility at FlyDubai but if it's for the long term I'd imagine the long term career opportunities are better at Qatar.

If you really think that 500 hours makes you a more experienced pilot, please go back to the fly school and keep suffering.:}

Go in peace!

Don't worry Born to suffer..you might "just" be an F/O, so what..we all used to be F/O with low experienced before..(seems that some "astronaut" here have already forgot that..).
Regarding the upgrade sure Fly Dubai (as they just started a few months ago,), will probably offer you a quicker upgrade if you join today compared to Qatar airways (..6 years at least today for an upgrade in Qr, you will have to join a long queue...).
It all depends of your personnal ambition..(building experience on different type&flying more destinations (QR) or taking an upgrade as soon as you can (Fly Dubai?),Depends as well where do you want to live...Dubai or Doha...Not really the same!

For me I prefer building experience on a different type and flying new destinations rather than a quick upgrade, however, still there is one thing that I have carefully think about, which is that I have many friends and relatives in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
and very few friends at Doha:sad:

Does QR make you sign the 3 year contract if you have the 320 type? Thx.

This quote is from Qatar airways career web
Pilots given a type rating conversion will be required to sign a service bond for a minimum 3 year period.

So I think if you currently type rated on one of the aircraft they fly, they won't make you sign service bond for 3 years

Well this is what I think, but I am really not sure

I saw that. That is what I think too but wondering if someone knows it for sure. They wrote "conversion". So if you have a USA or other ATP, to convert it into a local ATP will that result in a 3 year bond?

safelife

No it won't. No one can be expected to come with a qatari ATP. Being typed A320 won't bond you for flying A320 with QR, you might even get away free for a CCQ conversion to A330, in case they send you there.

safelife... do you know this for a fact? thanks!

Appreciate the info!

I see currency on their website is not mentioned. I exceed their reqs for FO but I have not flown the bus for some 1.5 years. Is that an issue? I have got like 2k in EFIS and jet but only few 100 on the 320.
