Burning plane forced to land

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating the cause of a fire that forced a cargo plane to make an emergency landing at Tamworth airport in northern New South Wales earlier tonight.

Fire crews, police and ambulance officers were called to the scene, but the fire had been extinguished by the time the plane landed.

The two pilots and one crew member were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital for observation.

Apart from this news report, does anyone know if the pilots are ok?

Two pilots and one crew member ? doubt it was a bank run in this case. Even the metros get aroung as single pilot ops.

Why would any "cargo plane" have "two pilots and one crew member"? Two pilots maybe if one was doing ICUS...

Anything mentioned about being Military, or even the size of the aircraft? Could have been the 2 Pilots and a Loadmaster...

It was a CV580.
There was no in flight fire.
There was no fire on the ground.
The source of the smoke could not be determined by flight crew or local fire crews.

While not a direct quote that's the general statement from what I read on BOSS. Those in the know will know boss.
