:sad:Greetings!

I would like to ask for anybody's opinion in doing PPL to MEI ratings in Clearwater, FL. How's the flying environment? Weather?

Anyway, I am choosing among schools listed below:

1. CAMS Flight
2. American Flying Adventures
3. Clearwater Airpark
4. Clearwater Aviation Academy

Has anyone had experience in the schools listed above?

Thanks!

Why specifically Clearwater?
Keep in mind that as a foreign student you can only apply to a school that is Part 141 certified as they are the only ones that can issue an I-20

Huge traffic in Tampa Area!! you are going to fly always shoreline to avoid the traffic.
I Suggest you EFT(ft Pierce) or Florida-Flyers(St.Augustine)

I would recommend Kissimmee airport (KISM) They have two schools there.

Orlando flight training which provides JAA/FAA training and part 141 certified.

Sunstate Aviation which is FAA training but cannot give out the I-20 visa but saying that if you do less that 18 hours I believe of flying then you dont need a visa issued to you.

@B2N2

Yes sir! I asked the schools already. Only 2 of them can issue I-20 forms. The others are still pending. Thank you for the reminder!

Thanks guys for the inputs. I have been choosing a lot of schools lately in CA or FL. :E

Hey there,

I went to clearwater airpark with 3 friends back in the summer in 2008 for our hour building. They are very very helpful and the airfield is simple to operate out of considering the close proximity of st. petes and tampa international.
