G'day all,
Maybe not the right place, I apologise.

Just got myself into a project which is investigating the purchase or build of simulators for light twins (kingair, seneca, aerostar, malibu type size). One of the project options is looking at a company who can produce a replica cockpit for a part task trainer using something like flight sim x or xplane in the background, but with touch screen controls for actually using the flight instruments etc.

I know a lot of smaller helo operators use this technique and recall seeing one for a Jetranger in Cairns many moons ago.

Any POCs or ideas would be great, TIA.

A PC, 3 Big monitors (1 for out the window view, one below it for panel and a third outside for the instructor to play around with., Flight sim 10, a big Box, some plywood, hole cuter, black paint, and a chair.

im serious, i have no idea how people can justify the cost of Flight sims these days!

Sorry, I should have said that I need a custom set of panels made as well. That's going to require programming that none of our staff have the time, nor training, for.

This company probably has what you need.

It is posiable for a reasonable amount of Cash. A friend built a B737-700 simulator using B737-100 nose and Microsoft Flight Sim. It is non motion but everything else is very realistic. Take a look at his web site and look at his links for more ideas.

Good on GD, many thanks. I've looked at Ken's before I think, some time ago. Pretty close to what I'm after actually - I don't need fancy knobs to turn, just a screen with a touch and drag capability is all I'm looking for, and his stuff seems to fit the biull very nicely.

Cheers.
