I was planning to make a stop at YKBN during an upcoming flight, but have been unable to find out who is actually maintaining the aerodrome since the Resort/Golf Course liquidated and closed down a while back.

Anyone been there lately, or know who is responsible for it's upkeep (if anyone)?

I called the Beaudesert Council, but they were useless and claim no responsibility for it's operation. The phone number offered in ERSA is no longer current.

I'd just like to find out about the runway's condition and any other relevant operational details if anyone can assist.

Give (07) 5544 6323 a go it's listed as the number for the skydiving company at the airport - edit - done a bit more googling looks like the skydiving co went broke in 2008 too !

Only flown in there once, hills around the area and a hill right at the end of the runway. Not the easiest but reasonable length and bitumen but quite narrow. Bitumen wasn't in the best of condition so usual car re stone chips.

hi we launch balloons from there (when the winds permit) from memory the administrators aint to keen on any aircraft using it use the phone # listed above and see, the airstrip has grass growing through it in cracks and local residents use it for a race track and walking so if you go in have a good look, boonah isnt to far from there.

Hey thanks for the help fellas. I think I'll call the Real Estate and see what they know. I'll probably still visit there, and just do a Prec-Search & Landing before committing to a full stop. If I get on the ground there, I'll be sure to take a photo and post it back here for anyone else interested.

Edit- just saw your post Backward Brick, thanks mate
