From my book 'Squadrons of the Royal Air Force' 222 had Spits between Mar 1940 and Dec 44 at quite a number of locations. Not being much of a typist I havent detailed them. :8

The RAF roll of honour shows that 222 Sqdn were equipped with Spitfires in March 1939 and were used in support of the troops at the evacuation of Dunkirk before being withdrawn to Lincolnshire.

In August 1940 they were moved to London in the middle of the month and took part in the BoB.

There was only one Metcalf listed in the RoH and he was a Sgt with 604 Sqdn.
