I see from 2006 that a .biz URL was "23% spammier than hardcore porn" according to SpamAssassin. It is also thought that the initial flush of Spam from the 'new' .biz domain has now subsided.

The question is how to get the various Spam filter agencies to review their 'scoring' algorithms. If the 2006 rating is still current it is in my mind ludicrous to rate a .biz hightr than hardcor porn. SpamAssassin has no contact address (yes, I know, they don't want Spam:))

Whinge 2: Over and over again I find friends 'losing' emails from all sorts of addresses into some arcane spam box that they know nothing about - BT Yahoo a classic case, which then kindly then DELETES the so-called spam after 30 days without notice. I would like to see a crackdown on ISPs who place spamboxes on unsuspecting clients into which emails vanish without trace. As I said, BT Yahoo is a classic, and it not easy to track down the spam settings and box- there was no obvious info when my friend set up his BT internet connection and by default acquired a Yahoo administered email account. With my assistance we tracked down the spam box and he found 129 emails over the last month in it, including many which he had been puzzled to not have received - investment club, sailing club, my personal etc., all non-Spam.

In no way am I against the antispam efforts - it is a pain, but when ISPs used by moderately 'low average computer skilled' people start eating genuine emails and not telling them, I think something needs to be done. I know they can move their ISP (after the contract 'lock-in') but they have to know in the first place!
