Yep. In an interview on telly he said he went into cloud - and I guess he dosn't have instuments!!!:eek:

BBC News 24 showed some air to air footage at lunchtime today, possibly live I think (not sure) and we did see him disappear into a cloud. My immediate reaction was :eek: but the news item finished with no further comment.

I watched all of the coverage on Sky. It's fantastic to see that we still have some true pioneers in the aviation community. This was definitely an achievable goal and would have been a massive milestone if he had succeeded. I thought that there would be a few problems when he suddenly disappeared into the cloud. It turned out that he lost control in turbulence but orientation must have been a problem. I hope that he succeeds at the next attempt.:D

I thought that the rescue team made a bit of a meal of the recovery. They dropped a free swimming diver in for no apparent reason and then waited an extremely long time before the lift. I think that most rescue organisations would have gone for a simple 'no-nonsense' double lift with no delay.:ugh:
