Shortly after takeoff there is always a chime in the cabin on EK's 777's.
Does this indicate landing gear retracted, if so then is it why audible in the cabin, is it to inform CC ?
Or is it something else ?
Cheers

Just guessing...

Probabaly an automated signal to give the cabin crew a signal that there will not be a rejected take-off anymore.

To let the cabin crew they may unstrap and move around.

I think what you hear is just a call bell!

There are no automated chimes on the 777 now. There used to be the NO SMOKING sign being extinguished once the landing gear was selected UP.

The chimes you might have heard are crew calling each other, or at 10 00ft or above the chime for the seat belts being turned off by the flight deck.

Quite a few aircraft have a design feature that allows crew selection of 'No Smoking' and 'Seat Belt' signs to Off / Auto or On.

Off and On are obvious!

Auto can mean No Smoking signs extinguish with gear selected up and Seat Belts when the flaps are fully retracted or at a pre-programmed altitude (10,300ft, for example)

In this day and age of No Smoking, the NS signs are left in the On position. Depending on the weather on the climb out routing, the belts will either be at On or auto for take off.

As mentioned, the sound you heard could be a signal to the cabin crew that it is safe for them to move around OR the belt sign being switched off.
