Why is it that I feel unsure about the early delivery of such a confident closing "technical fault" statement?

Any news on the crew - quite a few ex-RAF or secondees (sp?!) out there?

Regardless of who, how or why, glad the crew made the timely decision to step over the side! :ok:

For those who might be interested:

PC-9 (Tucano as reported) -(Solo) Student Pilot OK (Not Killed as reported). Investigation ongoing, probable technical (Engine Related) failure.
Tornado- Both 'Locals'- OK. Cause unknown. Loss of control has been mentioned.
F15-'Local'- OK- No Details.

Just to fill the gaps.

Ah ok sorry about the duff gen re the PC9. Minimal info as always: Same day as the PC9 F15 C from Taif, pilot ejected over the Red Sea was picked up fine. (so that will have been a bit of a shock if they paid the same attention during dinghy drill as they did in Dhahran!)

Good news that everyone ejected safely. Was the Tornado an IDS or ADV? Rumour control has all the ADVs withdrawn from use during 2007.

IDS from Dhahran.

ADV indeed withdrawn, but then so were the F5's which have been flying again over the past 10 days as recce assets for the spot of bother near the yemeni/saudi border.

F15 s with Lantirn, IDS with CLDP, both with snakeye Apache with Hellfire... and the venerable F5 with it's wet film camera....
