Hi guys, i hope someone can help me. I'm in the market for the IMC book to study before i take the course. I think i'm right in saying that i need the Radio Nav and Instruments book Vol. 5 from Trevor Thom. (Please correct me if i'm wrong). My question is, do i need to have the latest edition or can it be 1-2 years old?

The current version of volume 5 was published in January 2007.

You also may wish to consider the IMC Question and Answer Simplifier from AFE and / or The IMC Confuser.

Hope this helps.

I just finished mine a couple of months ago, I used the 2007 edition, it's very thorough, might need to read it more than once to take it all in.

IMC confuser is excellent for the exam, easy to sell on ebay when done with the exam to. Don't sell the Trevor thom book though, very useful for reference.
I found sitting the exam prior to starting the course a great help also.
