Hi there,

When posting replies to existing threads, I find that I can't use the apostrophe - it opens up a little pink search window at the bottom left of the page. However, it works fine when posting a new thread (like this one). Also, when replying to a thread, the cursor keys don't work, but they do when posting a new thread. Anyone seen that? This only happens on the PPRuNe site.

I have also noticed that when I highlight some text to cut and paste, when I right-click there is no copy option - it isn't grayed out, it is simply not there... however if I click outside the Firefox window and then come back to the highlighted text, I can then right-click and copy the text. This happens on other sites too.

Anyone have any ideas?

Update to the current version 3.5.5? Other than that no.

Regarding the ' - it is a shortcut key for something called QuickFind (I know not from where it came!) which pops up if I select ' outside a reply box. Clicking inside the box works as normal. The search box on mine comes up in the taskbar.

I get the popup on any web page. It appears to be a piece of freeware. It's on 3.5.5 as well, gg - definitely something 'Firefox'. Not listed in add-ons or plug-ins. Found this (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/236241?s=quickfind) and this (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/493502?s=quickfind)

OK well tried the second of BOACs fixes, it worked fine! Now I can add ''' as much as I want with no problems...

Anyone got any ideas on the copy-paste thing?

Does this happen in all programmes? IE Do you have a 'copy' in word? What exactly are you trying to do with the cursor keys?

Interesting, as I don't have the problem then it must, somehow, have got altered during set up. One problem of course is that once you changed the set up it'll tend to be carried through to a new install unless you delete your profiles before the install.

It's not a problem (unless you have a 'gremlin like remoak) - its quite a neat search function if you want to use it. I don't normally press ' much outside text boxes:)
