Question for the moderators

I posted on here looking for a new housemate a few days ago, simply stating my age, occupation and email address, with a brief description of the apartment in question and encouraged any interested parties to pm or email me for more info. I received quite a few responses which was great but then within 48 hours that thread had been deleted.

Did I break the rules somehow? Seems to me that if this is a 'network' for professional pilots then that sort of thing should be commonplace. Sure beats the hell out of the usual bitchy, whiny trash that we see. :(

Anyway, not upset, just curious.

Do not heedlessly place your advertisements through the Discussion Forums.

What would PPRuNe become if we permitted open slather for sale, for rent, share rent, personal adverts etc?? And if we permitted free advetising, why would our advertisers that fund this site, bother to place paid adverts?

And the Forums are not for addressing questions to Moderators. That is why we have PM and email.
