Hello everyone!

I currently fly north sea offshore. I now require to get my ATP ground school done. If I understand it correctly, with CPL and IR (Danish JAR), I need the ATP(H)VFR. I do need to do it distant. Anybody who could point me in the right direction would be appreciated. Been away from the schools for a long time so just wanted to know if there are any prefered schools to do it at and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Please check with your CAA if the "foreign language" below applies to your situation?

This is extracted from JAR-FCL 2, Amd 6.

JAR–FCL 2.050 Crediting of flight time and
theoretical knowledge

(11) The holder of a CPL(H) and IR(H)
gained under previous amendments of JAR FCL
2 up to and including Amendment 3 is
credited with the theoretical knowledge
requirements for ATPL(H) and IR(H).

Good luck.

If you wait long enough the CPL(H) will automatically become the ATPL(H) VFR - depends on which authority gets there first.

We do the IR(H) distance learning (see big blue ad on the right)

I see a flashing ad from a sunglass shop here on my right, are you changing careers? :)

On a more serious note...

You say that CPL(H) will become ATPL VFR in the future? Ok, but what about CPL(H) with IR(H), does that automatically turn into full ATPL(H)?

Do you have the link to the NPA for this thing for us to read?

Karl.

In Germany this started to be official, when our JAR-FCL2 Amd.2 was replaced by Amd.6

Now every CPL(H) can request a document from the LBA (German CAA), which states that he is granted with the theoretical knowledge credit for the ATPL(H)-VFR. For the complete ATPL(H) theory credit one has to do the IR(H) theory on top.

New flight students around here are now trained under the new Ammendment 6 and will not be able to get that credit. They have to do the ATPL(H) examination to get their ATPL(H) theory credit.

I guess this is how it is going to be with all the other JAA-states as well...sooner or later.

OK, you might have to wait a bit for the blue ad... :)

Would be very interesting to see what other JAA-states say on that part.

Thanks for the info. Called the Swedish authorities and they said that possibilety is no longer valid. It expired about a year ago. For now I have to do the full ATPL ground school. About 450 hours according to him. He suggested i contact the Danish counterpart to see if they have implemented the new rules. I will keep trying. Thanks again for the information.

Thanks a bunch guys. Just been in contact with the danish SLV DCAA and I do fulfill the theoretical requirements with a cpl and ir. All I need is a skill test. Good news. Again to all replies thx!!

Great news! Take it away.
