It's not usually :ugh:
Bravo73 29th October 2009, 14:36 FYI, the helicopter discussion is about to start in a couple of minutes. (1238hrs-ish)
HOGE 29th October 2009, 14:59 The Jeremy Vine show is the "Daily Mail" of the airwaves.
Sir Niall Dementia 29th October 2009, 15:26 What an utter load of drivel and mis-information. Vine owes a major apology to those of us who earn a living from flying helicopters. What an utter C***.
The R22 pilot who e-mailed needs a substantial kick in the balls. Because he chooses to fly like a prat doesn't do the rest of us any favours at all.
Sensationalist utter c**p. There are some mighty angry pilots around here right now.
carholme 29th October 2009, 16:21 Listened to the broadcast and it would seem that we are constantly striving to find a new low in sensationalism. The radio host obviously knows very little about helicopters and some of the pax that called in, even less.

oldbeefer 29th October 2009, 16:37 Turned off after Vine called us 'helicopter drivers'.
DOUBLE BOGEY 29th October 2009, 16:43 Now Now boy's!!!!!! you know the golden rule of journalism......never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
It would be a bloody boring show if everyone phoned up to say they had a nice time and thier G&T did not even get spilt!!!
Better put the blame on the crab **** who trashed one of HRH's finest pumas than Mr Vine who is dining out on the aftermath!!
HOGE 29th October 2009, 16:53 The programme can be heard here.

John R81 29th October 2009, 20:13 Complaints, ladies and gentlemen, to the BBC and to Broadcasting Standards. Topics for discussion - Fairness, Accuracy
traumajunkie 30th October 2009, 00:42 "The thing about helicopter crashes is they hit the ground and go splat." Impressive journalism.
The words of David Mitchell seem remarkably apt today: YouTube - That Mitchell and Webb Look - Send us your reckons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQnd5ilKx2Y)
The Nr Fairy 30th October 2009, 09:51 Not going to listen to that one, based on the posts.
But the only person I've ever scared in a helicopter was me !
airborne_artist 30th October 2009, 10:26 What a prat - "Opens with "it killed the twelve crew on board" - he later corrects this, but that's what will stay in many people's minds.
For the record, two were killed in the crash, and another died later in hospital.
ericferret 30th October 2009, 14:44 OLDBEEFER
A touch sensitive I fear.
Yesterday morning, senior captain to oil company ops cell,
Good morning, I'm the driver going to the Whisky.............
I do enjoy working with pilots with a sense of humour and a firm grasp on reality.
