I'm getting into JFK at 1am in a few weeks and after 30 hours in a plane would rather spend the night somewhere close by and cheap rather then heading straight into the city. Any help! Cheers!

Its a flat rate by cab into Manhattan and at that time of night will take you maybe 30 mins. Much more choice there.
If you want cheaper than in town try searching for La Guardia airport hotels on a site like Expedia. LGA will take you about 20mins by cab from JFK. Next day you are nearer town from LGA

Ramada at JFK is around $80, it has a shuttle bus from the airport, i would grade it as an old 2* hotel, cheap and relatively cheerful...... From there you can dump your bags and take the airport train into Manhatten.
