Is it only me that gets irritated by people using airport codes, rather than the name. I have no idea which airport/base the poster is talking about, but I would probably know the airport or base name. PLEASE could we use names!!!. I have no idea where KHMV is, and I suspect that not many other people do either!!!!

Make contact with the Airport Manager first , thats what I did a few years ago , it worked for me. Just ensure if you plan on taking any photo's on the individual ramps that you have permission -some operators dont like it when you dont ask !:ok:

If he gave the name, I wouldn't need to google it, would I. If he is requesting information, he should save people the trouble by giving the name AND the code if he felt it necessary If he gave the name, everybody would know where it was. If it's just the code, not so many people know. Surely the name is more useful and saves the bother etc...,:rolleyes:

Most aviation entusiasts know the codes - part and parcel of the hobby I guess. BTW Opa Locka is OPF, not to be confused with APF which is Naples FLA. I'm showing off now ;)
