im looking to fly to GND by either BA or Virgin Atlantic, and the thing is, im looking to fly there, hand deliver some very important documents there and then when i land, and that very day, still fly back :uhoh:

i was told that BA flies from LGW and arrives at GND at 16:10, and the next flight out is around 18:05.

just would like to know what these flights are like generally for timing and is that cutting it a bit too fine on the time?.
was also advised that virgin fly there and there is a flight that leaves a little later on the return leg what might be better.

i mean once i clear immigration etc, i will be heading straight back to departures to hand deliver what i got, & get away, & board. don't really wish to stay there for a week or so as i heard BA fly there once a week and stuff :confused:

i will get myself checked in online, but will only have a rucksack really, so hope to get through and board hopefully by like 17:30.

by the way im BA staff-if that would help me.
also i wonder if virgin accepts BA staff travel.
if im delayed on the way there then i guess thats it all over....:*

Not sure if I'd risk staff travel as your ticket would only be a standby, wouldn't it? Depends how time sensitive the document is I guess.
Unless the documents are BA/VS related, in which case they'd probably prioritise you on the flight.
2 hours sounds enough to me at GND, and any inbound delay is likely to lead to an outbound delay. The aircraft is likely to need 2 hours on the ground if it is the same machine inbound and out.
If I were you, I'd check in for both flights in the UK before you leave - and save any potential queuing time. Just have some answers/paperwork ready for GND and LGW immigration/customs in case they wonder why you are spending such a short time in GND.

Airline staff and engineers regularly do this sort of work all over the world and I can't see that you'd have any major issues.

I think you have a problem. It's the same aeroplane there and back, but, think on this......
It's not official airline stuff- you would be on a duty ticket. so you are trying to use a staff concessionary ticket. You are obviously being paid to do this. These tickets are not allowed to be used for employment- they are strictly leisure, non-employment tickets only. How are you going to explain a 1 hour 50 minute 'vacation' in Grenada if you are asked? This will possibly be flagged up. I do believe some time ago they banned out and backs like this- you are possibly taking up a seat a genuine vacationer would otherwise have used. But have you not heard of 'discretion'? Why are you washing private staff travel matters in public. You obviously have no idea of the rules and regulations. I suggest for the sake of your job you educate yourself rapidly, and if need be, ask a few questions of the staff travel department, because you are treading on far thinner ice than you evidently realise! Take it as a friendly tip- be careful.
