Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since I first considered taking the Commercial pilot course over here in Ireland (waterford pilot training) but having returned from travelling the past year and a half I am strongly considering enrolling for this now again.

Basically no matter how much research i have been trying to do I cannot come up with convincing info re the outlook for newly qualified pilots (assuming I do qualify) in the next year to 3 years....I have a backround in stockbroking so do realise to some extent about the market but I am in no doubt working pilots on this forum could give me valuable information if I asked nicely ?:)

Thanks everyone, I plan on quizing the college staff themselves over this hoping Ill get one or two honest opinions but you know yourself - theyre trying to sell it to me

I suggest you move this thread to the Wannabees forum. And yeah, you're right, you'll never get a honest opinion from them!

Good luck!

Personally, I think the outlook is very good. You will find that as more and more pilots resign to take up better paid and more respectable jobs such as bus driver, refuse collector and airport security agent, there will be plenty of vacancies.

Can anyone please add any helpful information, advice or opinions on this one ?

Surely the occupation will be sustainable in the coming years?

Also mod if needs to be moved to wannabe section by all means do.
