Apparently there is a cadet pilot programme for Air Hong Kong...we shall wait and see.

i'm not sure if there's a "Cadet Pilot Programme" (CPP)......but the one i'm talking about is called the Ab-initio DE F/O programme, which is designed for Instrument Rated CPL holders with at least 250 hours. A really fast-tracked course for the RHS on AHK's A300-600Fs.

HKA has Ab-initio DE F/O last year when I went into their website.
They remove Ab-initio DE F/O hiring after the recession hits the globe

Thanks for your info nicholasblonde.
i m sorry to hear about the rejection dude.
ab-initio DE F/O is the (only) one i m (qualified to) after and i have received an email about a month ago saying that my application (submitted about 3 months ago) is being considered and they will notify those shortlisted applicants in due course.....

That's the letter i got from them:

"Dear Mr X

Thank you for sending your resume to AHK Air Hong Kong Limited (AHK).

AHK will consider your application, together with other similar
applications received, with a view to running special 'low or non-jet
experience' interviews and transition courses at a later date. In the
meantime we will keep your application on file.

We will contact those selected applicants at the appropriate time.

Thank you for your interest in joining AHK.

Rgds,
AHK Air Hong Kong Ltd"

I'm a CRJ FO (active) in the US with an ATP--I just received a rejection email for an application I sent back in Summer/Fall 2008 about 5 weeks ago--I had applied for both ab-initio (when it was up still) and DEFO.

I would imagine they are not doing ab initio anymore...who knows what the future holds though.

I am the same as you... current CRJ FO with ATP, but have about 1500Hrs heavy time. I also applied in about the same time frame. They call me and said they wanted to set up a phone interview, and then a possible interview in HKG. About 2 weeks went by and I got an email saying they were not hiring people who did not live in SE Asia, but they would keep my CV on file.
So dont know what happend?

That's a bummer PCLCREW...maybe you should get a gf over there...heard your old co. (think you sat sideways once, right???) might be hiring again if you're the guy I'm thinking of...think you could go back on the -400?

You might also try Omni in Tulsa...they have a solid DoD charter and 3 Omni pilots have confirmed to me that they are hiring for sure...positive space from home for all assignments? Sign me up!!!!!
