Aircraft rates in Auckland - the best x-country weapons

With summer approaching I thought this would be a good time to start this thread.

What are the best aircraft deals for private hire? Two seat, four seat, six seat.. AR/NE/elsewhere

Nice C185 near AR for $450/hr (may get it for a bit less). IO550 power, 150kt cruise. $3.00/NM, but you can go a long way in an hour. Seats 6 at a squeeze, 0.50cents/NM/person - that's New Plymouth, (nearly) Gisborne, Far North for around $400.

Here is what I have found..

Eagle
R172K - Four up, $1.90 a mile

Auckland Aero Club
C152A - Two up, $1.52 a mile
C172SP - Four up, $1.80 a mile

I suspect Airline have some good deals too

The champ is a good option. The C185 too, but you need a mustache to fly one of those :}

I wouldn't be using the 185 for a serious xc. I'd be taking it to all the grass strips around akl, waikato, coromandel and barrier for fun.
