Hi All
On reading the Aerodrome Booklet for Manchester it states that aircraft on STARS departures must not overfly Knutsford.
How come then that A/C are always overflying Knutsford and lowish as well?

STARS are arrival routes to a holding fix, departures fly SIDS, standard instrument departures. At Manchester these departures are so designed that they fly around Knutsford not over it

...unless you're in a prop, or a 146*, as they are quiet enough not to disturb the good burghers of Knutsford. Bigger/noisier than that and you're on the 'Knutsford swerve' as you noted.
* - may not be an exhaustive list!

The "same SID" is also flown by the C130s [Civvie or Mil]
