The aviation recruitment site www.climb350.com (http://www.climb350.com) shows Capt's and FO's required for MD80/DC9 based in South Africa. Any ideas?

Hi!

Capts $6.0/mo., FO's $2.5 (I think), for both MD and DC-9. Flying to "hotspots". I heard it is mostly UN charter. Also said 2 year bond if they paid for your type, and 6 mos? if they paid for your recurrent.

I had emailed them before (before I had my current job), and they emailed back, emphasizing the low pay and shared housing conditions, and asked if I was STILL interested. I emailed back and said interested, and then heard nothing.

Cargo (and in general) has picked up here in Kenya since Sep, Dubai had their best cargo month EVER in Aug, and there are LOTS of MDs now in Africa, compliments of Al-Italia, so they may be expanding.

GAL aviation? Pay in SA sucks, better off working for Mickey D's drive through.

I submitted a resume to these folks... keeping my fingers crossed for a response... I think this would be a very memorable/unforgettable experience. I would relish the opportunity to work in that part of the world.
