GA jobs in China and convertion to CAAC license

The Aviation market is growing fast in china, heard that china GA is now developing as well, anybody has info about GA in china? Are they hiring now?

I am from HK and holding CPL with ATP subjects and CIR, but with current economy, there is nowhere that i can get a job, hav been unemployed for afew months now.

Anybody know the procedures to convert my CASA license into CAAC license, so I will b able to fly in china. I heard that the procedures are not easy if you do not hav big airlines to back you up.

For my case, it was abit unlucky, becoz I had my CPL last august when the economy was still good and I decided to do my MECIR instead of instructor rating. After I have finished the training, the global economy just turned bad and I wasn't able to find anyjobs, I sud hav done my instructor rating instead, becoz there are still some demand for instructor:ugh:

I am sorry to bring bad news but at the present time China is not hiring any foreign flight instructor. However, post again early next year, there might be some changes.

Are you saying CAAC will not let anymore foreign license to convert to CAAC license, I know there are so many flying skools in china now, there should still be some demand for instructor, but may be you will need to speak mandarin, I am not too sure. I am from Hong Kong and able to speak mandarin fluently.

So far conversion to CAAC license is very difficult, either you need to get hired by an airline and if you got your licenses in a foreign school approved by the CAAC then that airline will convert your license, all you need is take the written tests again.
If you are not hired by an airline and you have your instructor licenses, then you need to try to get hired by a flight school and they will convert your license, then you'll have to work for them for a definite number of years. Unfortunately at this time no flight school is ready to hire foreign instructors. As I said in my previous post, look around early next year, there might be some changes.
The last way is that you pay for your own conversion with a flight school, but so far no flight school in China at this time is offering this. Again, in a few months things might change.

I know what it is not to have a job for a long time, definitely very difficult, but if you are really willing to work in China you will have to wait for some time. I would suggest you try to knock on airlines doors, if you are young and can speak mandarin there might be your best chance ! If you can not and really want to convert your licenses, then I'd suggest you try to work temporarily in another country and in a few months try again with flight schools in China

Will China open the airspace and create a boom in aviation?

Think twice before you knock on their (airlines in China) doors. If you quit before finishing your contract (very long) they will sue you in court. A few of my buddies still owes them 1 million RMB plus.

Looking for a Flt Instruction job in PRC ?. - please do stop fooling yourself.

Look for other places in the SE Asia region (namely Malaysia). You'll be better off gaining experience (instruction and flt time) and saving some money.

The industry is picking but at a turtle pace.

like wya said other parts of SE so far would be better choice, Malaysia is very good i believe, flight schools are indeed hiring and it is a good place to build up some experience.

In the SEARCH pb is your answer, make like Lazarus and start it digging out ...

MFA - Melaka

... are a few of the mainstream Schools hiring at the moment. All in all they have pro's and con's. In Malaysia's specific case you'll be better off than PRC, dewling with massive ATC issues (military airspace), communication issues, meteo issues (depending where you're based) and a Babel of prob's.
