What are the RFDS(QLD) going to use the Cessna C208's for?

What happened to the other C208 post's?

'S8" apparently the thread had an engine failure & crashed, you know what they say about SE planes, dangerous buggers in some Ops!!:}
I could be wrong but the QLD section may have idea's for clinic runs to be conducted using the C208.

The C208 thread? I accidentialy deleted it while changing a spelling mistake...

Somone has hit the nail on the head though the C208 is perfect for clinic runs instead of contracting it out to PA-31 operators etc!

Lester,

Which sections CEO said that? Pretty sure it would not have been QLD section. Heard the rumour about Cairns, and I don't think any will be sent west, unpressurised in summer I don't think would go down real well. I heard cs based.

Can I please fly them? I'd love to go back to the van with the docs.

Are they getting the "baby" C208's or the C208B Grand Caravans?
Rumour has it that they will replace Cairns based PC12 which will go to Isa.

Hi YBCV RFDS was not getting the Cessna Caravan. It is only in use in CNS. Use for clinic runs only.

They have received the C208B Grand caravan. And Cairns PC12 has moved to Charleville. VH-FDP. The current PC12's in QLD are VH-FDP, VH-FDC AND VH-NQB. VH-FDC AND VH-NQB are Isa.

If you are talking about this (http://www.pprune.org/dg-p-general-aviation-questions/391708-cessna-208-your-views.html) thread, I reinstated it.

I recently as yesterday flew a C208 out of Lukla in Nepal, the downdraughts were incredible just after T/O and I very nearly took out a number of trees, thank God (Krishna, Buddah) the terrain sloped away and I was able to keep a few metres above the terrain as the Valley swept way to the left of my flight path, I was able to keep flying the machine, without being too dramatic I can report I was able to survive the journey and the Flight Sim received no apparent damage. :suspect:
