think commands at the moment are running at about three years. with all the f/o's that have joined in the last couple of years i would guess about five years or so.

Where are all the ex Virgin Atlantic A346 F/O's....?
Did the time to command of minimum 5 years made them change their minds ? wonder....
What about the Aer Lingus pilots EY ( SR ) is trying to lie to and lure ? With which fake promises will they attract them in AUH ? Command within a year on top of seniority, mix fleet A320/A380 soon coming insh allah ?
Come on let's face it, for any new joiner on any EY fleet, it's gonna be minimum 5 to 7 years to command and 3 to 4 years for fleet change.

Our A320 F/O's are applying to EK as they won't see the shadow of an A330 before 2 years. Our A320 captains are desperate coz they won't see the A330 either before 2 to 3 years and EY still advertises for DEC's on all fleets.
Our A330/A340 F/O's face delays in command upgrades coz of less aircrafts coming in and decrease in ULR requirement of 2 captains soon to be approved....
Our B777 F/O's have already suffered the poor number of destinations and/or the undefined time to command.
Our A330 captains, the most junior will be forced to A320 MFF and the A330/A340 are the only ones quite happy there, despite a couple of resignations and a lot of abroad applications sent, just like the EK drivers.

Business is starting up again in a few companies like Virgin America, EZY, Tiger, KAL, Chinese carriers, VN.
Time will change sooner or later as worldwide flying schools are training less and less people, shortage of F/O's will come up soon.
