A little bird whispered into my ear that DeltaWest was going to park a bird or two (actually, 7 or 8 A330 frames) in the desert.

Lo and behold, while checking FlightAware this AM, what pops up but

FlightAware > Northwest Airlines Inc. #9860 (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/NWA9860)

which, per FlightAware, comes back as an A333.

Seems interesting that DL would park a A333 instead of a 764 - but Virginia Avenue's ways are never clear to the outside world.

Interesting, have narrowed it down to 1 of 4 aircraft as all the others have been over the Atlantic today

Is there a chance it could be just going there to be painted into the DL livery?

Correct. All former NWA A330s are rotating thru Victorville for painting.

another forum is now suggesting that this frame is in fact heading for storage!
