On Bne CEN a flight QF6100 was doing what I can only assume to be intense test flying.

Inbound and outbound on the 060 radial from Brisbane at a distance between 60 and 150NM. At different levels and given a block to play in.

Does anyone know what kind of flying operations are done like this?

I do not reckon its was procedure turn training, but they would have been doing a few in the couple of hours they were out there! :}

............jaba the Capt was doing re-currency training as he never could work out his inbound to outbound stuff when being tested for NVMC in a C172:-):}
Probably doing unrelated testing & or fish spotting:-)

As an3 has said, probably a maintenance flight after being in heavy . We do the same thing here in Adelaide. They are either given a radial with a set distance or a box.

I figured it was most likely the case. A/C type unknown to me, could have been any number of types from up here.

J:ok:

New toy is going well Wally. It just had about 10 hours of really solid IMC near freezing and driving rain down your way............ ohh yeah and that was S/E too :eek:.
