Everyone’s trying to find out who’s paying how much to fly what type…. My inquiry is close – I’m looking for info about Ops Manager / Logistics Manager work for UN agencies / NGO’s .

My flying background is mainly bush in Australia, up to B1900, but my eyesight is now non-aviational, so I’m out of the cockpit. Other than flying, I’ve run businesses and have a business/accounting qualification, fluent French, single, ex-Army, and don’t mind living in shipping containers on tours. Cool with local people and an ace at doing curry and chilli rice.

What sort of annual salary would this sort of work attract, and are there any particular (logistics ?) qualifications that employers look for ??

Yeah I know I deserting to the enemy……its just that I don’t plan on going too far from airports.. :)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

First check out the UNAVSTADS to see if you meet the requirements for a office job.

Hi withaflash. Thanks. The AVSTADS seem to be based on ICAO SARP, in determining UNHAS contractor’s organisational structure and delegations requirements. There is also plenty of info in the UNJLO FOM at http://www.unjlc.org/tools/FOM/about_fom.htm (http://www.unjlc.org/tools/FOM/about_fom.htm) and I’ve probably got a number of the boxes ticked. Don’t know how this translates into actual ops though, although it would probably be easier to select staff than select an airfield that meets all requirements for an FOB !

How are the usual term$ and conditions like for this sort of work, whether it be UNHAS or further down the chain with the contacted operators ?
