Would like to use this thread if I may to congratulate the BLACKHAWK CREW involved in the recent rescue ops at KOKODA.
These guys dont get the sort of flying very often that they have been tasked with in recent days. The vids of the choppers front wheels only sitting on that pad have unnerved quite a few of us. One inch forward or back and it would have been a major disaster because of what was in front and immediately behind the chopper. Some Civilian chopper pilots in PNG get that sort of flying every day but BLACKHAWKS dont. Got a lot of feedback from one of the crew in the back seat of the wx enroute to the crash site. One hundered per cent concentration.
Hopefully in the future your monthly hours can increase somehow to keep your skills up guys {includes the girls}
The disaster with the NVG'S in townsville is still fresh in our minds.
THANKS
