Ticket Pricing
Ticket pricing in this day and age is very wierd. I want to go to Syd in January. I want to travel Business class.

Ticket prices (business) quoted from the UK/nearby vary from £2200, (EY from CDG) right up to 3 times that.
Etihad from Paris is £2200, but from lhr it's £3300.

Last month, Emirates had a special of £1800. That's now gone.

How on earth do the ME airlines set these fares?

As always the law of 'Supply and Demand'

Good luck

Its even more strange when you look at Business flights from UAE to OZ as they are frequently much more expensive than the flight from Europe to OZ with the same carrier.

As said before it comes down to supply and demand and what the competition is like for the journey.

Don't forget the departure tax doubles when you go Business class out of the UK to a non-EU destination - 80 pounds for what? :suspect:

You can read all about it here:

It's called "Yield Management" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yield_management)
