Hi All,

I am in the process of completing the application for this now that it is open to international wannabes (I'm in the US) but notice reference to a medical questionnaire that applicants are receiving.

I have had a medical history (lymphoma which required chemotherapy a few years ago) which although is completely clear now and OK for a Class 1 medical, fear it *could* be an issue if (say) CX needs to decide between someone who has a clean bill of health and myself.

Does anyone know if something like this would be automatic disqualification? I don't want to waste CX's time and my own if it's a no-go.

Thanks!

From my understanding, as long as you are capable of earning a Class 1 medical, your health will not disqualify you from being a pilot (assuming you pass all the selection stages and the company sees you as a good fit).

As a matter of fact, I think it is incorrect to see CX's recruitment that way - they will never "decide" between 2 people. As long as you meet the "Cathay Standard", they will hire you, and seeing that you can get a Class 1 medical, this shouldn't be an issue if you are successful with the selection process.

Hope this helps!
