If MyAir have stopped flying, one imagines that Ryanair and Easyjet will aim to consolidate their advantage around Milan and Venice.

If they have, this would have been what triggered it...

July 21 (Bloomberg) -- Myair.com, an Italian low-cost
carrier, was banned from Orio al Serio airport near Milan, the
manager of the airport said in an e-mailed statement today.

Italy’s civil aviation authority met with Myair July 16
after flight cancellations and delays, ENAC said. Myair has a
temporary license through Oct. 31, the agency said.

Yesterday the operators of BGY and VCE airports impounded MyAir's aircraft for non payment of fees. The Italian Civil Aviation Authority are also said to have suspended their license

Just been on their website but no info. Interestingly I see they have a strategic alliance with SkyEurope. Maybe they should should change that to a bankruptcy alliance.

Airline has now ceased trading with ENAC suspending operating license.

Airline carried approx 1.5 Million passengers in 2008 with Venice being their main hub.

Venice now #1 base for MyAir; also big in Bari, Bergamo and Bucharest | anna.aero (http://www.anna.aero/2009/03/13/venice-now-1-base-for-myair/)

Italian government in a nutshell! When Alitalia is in trouble we'll bail them out with more cash, anybody else in trouble gets to bite the dust! :ugh:
