Any ideas why my pound sign gives me a #? ACER Laptop 5210 Extensa

I have ensured that the regional/language settings are UK but still have this issue.

Any help much appreciated.

You need to set it to use a UK keyboard.

If you switch on the Language Bar (bottom right) and right click on the language displayed you should get all the necessary options. Based on Win XP

Go to Contol Panel, select Regional and Languages & Change it to English (United Kingdom). This should sort the problem out!
