I've just read in the local paper that a single engined aircraft, possibly a Provost T.1, crashed yesterday near to Caenby Corner en route Waddington to Linton on Ouse. The report say the engine was on fire before impact.

It appears as though it ended in tragedy for the pilot. Anyone know if it was the aircraft that was still parked at Waddington on departures day on Monday?

If so very sad. Condolences indeed.

This was in the Lincs Echo...Not sure if it is the same incident but likely I guess:

That's the same one.
Surprising there's no news of it until now on here.

Sadly it took the life of John Fairey the test Pilot and tributes to this great Gentleman can be found elsewhere on the site.
