Hello Gentlemen,
Firstly let em say that I am not a pilot, I am a ships captain and historian looking into the loss of a ship called the Slidre Timur on February 26, 1971 on a reef near Mackay , QLd Australia. Upon receiving an SOS message, the RAAF dispatched a Neptune Bomber at 8.10am that morning. A Flight Lieut. Paddy Shorthouse was in command of the aircraft.
I am hoping to find someone here that may know about this flight and what was seen that morning

The Neptunes from 10 and 11 Sqn RAAF were not bombers.

Trev, may I suggest that you open a new thread with a more specific title such as "Flt Lt Paddy Shorthouse RAAF and Slidre Timur incident 1971"?

Or do a search - which reveals that PS was killed in a car crash in 2007 (http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-259232.html), sadly.

Somewhat terse there, LJR! A Neppy could probably be called a torpedo bomber without stretching things too far, couldn't it?
