Does anyone know what are the ACMI rates in South Africa for a B737-200.

Around $15K per hour, altho you will pay a premium for the short lease period

My estimate in the contract market is $1500USD per hour

$1500 is not what I thought. I was thinking more around $1950 to $2100 per Block hour.
At $1500 We cant even pay to Maintain the Aircraft let alone pay for Insurance.
Maintanence cost around $600.00 per flight hour. Thats if you do your maintenance.
But That just my Thoughts.

Travelman about right, but maybe even on high side. A bit under $2k pbh will get you a -300 or -400 for maybe slightly higher min guaranteed utilisation from e/europe, with subsidised ferry costs to/from base. There are B737NG on the market for less than $2.5k pbh for min guarantee 250 bh per month during winter.... we are talking late build -800's, winglets and all. These are pre-negotiation rates too.
