Right....this is just based on hearsay, so, here is the question. Is there any truth to the story that the United Arab Emirates have been awarded all domestic and international flights (I assume this is for people directly associated with the soccer and not tourists etc) associated with the 2010 world cup soccer in SA?
I am led to believe, rightly or wrongly, that the UAE will place a few A330 in SA for the duration of the word cup for all the domestic flights and they have been cleared to fly to all destinations in SA (Durban, Cape Town, Jhb, Bloem) direct from overseas destinations.
If this is true, I am surprised. I would have thought the SA government would protect its domestic interests and award the work to our national carrier unless the decision was handed down to us by FIFA as a condition of being awarded the soccer.
Any thoughts?
