Re: A spokesman for Transport Minister Anthony Albanese said: "The Government has confidence in CASA's oversight of the Australian airline industry, including Qantas. In fact we have strengthened their oversight further by appointing for the first time a board for CASA."

That is totally wrong, CASA did have a Board before but it was abolished and their CEO/Director reported direct to the Minister when it became dysfunctional a few years ago.

So either sloppy reporting or a Minister/Ministerial spokesman who doesn;t have a clue, or both.

Minister is a light weight on transport especially aviation matters. He has surrounded himself with equally low quality advisers.

Ministerial appointment reward for ability to manage Party membership numbers.

Neither is he old enough to know anything other than 'book learning'.

His tenure will not be remarkable.:yuk:
