From the books, the ADIRS provide pitch attitude to the FCMC.

Does having the ADIRS off (or on) while refueling makes any difference?

In practical knowledge, never noted.

Greetings,

Although there is nothing specified on the FCOMs, there is a mention that ADRUs have to be on, during refueling otherwise an error up to 780 kgs might happen.
It is in the MAINTENANCE manual.

The aircraft can be totally shut down (except for power to the refuel panel) and no problem with refuelling to the required value.

It's hard to pick up from your question but guessing about pitch attitude, this is only needed if doing a drip from the magnetic sticks. If the aircraft does not have the bubble indicator near the refuelling panel the roll and pitch can be obtained from the CFDS before referring to the charts. In this case the ADIRUs will need to be aligned.

A330/340 refuel procedure as per AMM specifies ADIRU aligned other wise potential for error as noted by previous poster if not parked level as FCMC gets attitude info for deciding fuel levels in tanks . Bubble indicator now deleted on most a/c and new builds as pretty useless. Although this is in AMM which is the approved refuel procedure , i dont believe its in the FCOM, or wasnt last time i looked !
