Earlier yesterday (Wednesday)Wendell My host took me down to NAS Pensacola to see the Blue Angels doing a Practice Display.
Every Tuesday & Wednesday they practice at 8.30 am for 30 mins & on Wednesday they all come into the Museum to sign autographs for the public.
The practice is free to view & open to the public.
Here are a few photo's i took of the event, hope you like them.
They have been edited on my laptop so might look a little different to you than what i can see here so expecting some negative comments..........

Brilliant pics!

Few realize that the real tour at this museum is on the flightline although the museum itself is astounding. Leave the kids to play in the museum and take the golf cart tours of the ramp.

Even better is if you can talk them into a walk through of their reconstruction facility... amazing what is in there!

An absolutely world class aviation museum.

Cheers,
Evileyes

Thanks Evileyes,

Yesterday was my third visit there & i have already done the museum twice so concentrated on the demonstration & wanted some stuff from the shop.
As you say a great place to visit & i recommend the flight line tour as well.

Thanks again for your comments.
Cheers Trev

Trev,

We would surely appreciate you posting those pics, and any more you have, in the World Museums thread at the top of the forum. They get lost in the scheme of things if you leave them where they are now.

One post with all the pics would be good, and 800 x 600 is our standard preference sizing.

Thanks in anticipation.

Ok, you want some negative comments, ditch the trousers, they're fine for kids and women but shouldn't be seen on grown men!:}

and I made myself a member of the fashion police:ok:

The phots are great though :D

Top pictures.We stayed at pensacola in the mid nighties during Purple star and two of our chaps borrowed the flag from outside the guardroom during a large security exercise.Needless to say it caused a huge stink.Thanks for the pictures.

Stunning phots, thankyou 7of9, you have just added another must go location to my future trip of Florida once my daughter is old enough to enjoy it / we are able to manage a fair few hours with her on a cattle class truck with wings.

I agree with ClippedCub that the pic of 3 F-18's with 4 sets of wings is a classic image. Would you mind telling us what camera set-up you used?

I have to admit to leaving the camera on Auto set up as still inexperienced at manual set up for fast action shots.
Exif data reads as follows;

Exposure Time 1/320 sec.
F Number F9.
Aperture 5.6.
ISO 100.

Many thanks for the comments & hope this helps.
Really do recommend going if you are in the area also it's Free entry to the museum;
Previous trips to the museum can be seen here;

As previous posts have said brilliant pics Trev and a new must see desitiation when in the US.

One question though is why can't the Reds do something similar over here? Weekly practice show and free entry would certainly go down well and help justify their existance to the tax-paying public.

The Yanks really know how to turn on the PR machine and this is something BritMil needs to do too. Log book records my one and only landing at Scampton as being 20 January 1981 so it's time I paid another visit!

Top tip....suggest you don't refer to the residents of Florida as 'Yanks' as this may cause offence in this southerly State!! ;)
