Anyone ever noticed their adverts in Flight International. They advertise 737 and A320 type ratings but the aircraft pictured in the ad is always a 757!

Quality control?

If it is, I did a 320 rating in the US through PanAM. I have done four TRs, this was by far the best one. We were well prepared for the LST and all the paperwork was ok.
The logistics of the course could have been better, but it all worked out in the end- Except no A320 job at the end of it :)

Steer well clear of these guys. They used to be known as randhem aviation and they were bad news then. Read the threads on randhem aviation and see for yourself. They went belly up in 2008 and then mysteriously started up again in late 2008 in the UK under the name of northern aerospace. Very suspicious indeed...
If you value your licence, your career and your hard earned cash, stay away!

In the current economic climate, a type rating and line training may not be prudent without a firm offer of employment, like Ryanair etc. If you do decide to go down that route, there are plenty of other places to do a TR and line training. Do your research and shop around before you make a decision. Go with a more well established TRTO with good traing standards and reputation. It will make all the difference.

Wishing you all the best,

Hallo to All!

How I see, only one posistive reference about Northern Aerospace from SR-22... So different wievs about one TRTO.
I would like to ask expert advisory:
6 months ago I finished my flight training (Received CPL(Frozen ATPL)+finished MCC course). I have successfuly passed Crew selection process in one of the eastern Europe Air companies and received contract agreement. But.... Due to the economical situation my contract was changed to training agreement with place in holding pool(without any possible date of expected start).
Thats why I looking for possibilities to make TR and start to work. I got information about Northern Aerospace on internet(Google). Currently I have offer from this company. They are offering TR training form B737 with base check and line training with one of the European Airline. And in case of succesful line training completition they promised to stay as a contractor after completion of line training.
May be here is someone with expierence with this company offered TR+line training course, and can explain, how big is possibility to get a job after line trainig.
Thank to all!

What did you guys pay for the T.R. at Randhem?

I suggest you to stay away from these bastards. Our company lost thousands of € when they silently went 'bankrupt' in June 2008 (not to mention that some people who paid ratings by themselves lost 20,000€ or more).

look guys just listen to the advice we have given you. Do your ratings with an honest established training organisation.

Companies and individuals have lost out after dealings with these people.

Heed our advice, you have been warned!

What I heard, the few students that paid for training but did not receive the course did get it. If you know of anyone that did not get any please say....
I did a good checkup and what I understand the only ones that will not get anything is the ones that paid for the Jetairways program. No one mentioning all those that did receive a full type rating and did not pay for it at all.
I did some instruction for this company and they do have a good setup and quality.

(edited at this point to remove the ID of someone potentially being slandered - WWW )

Consider that this company probably put through about 350 pilots for the Boeing 737 only within the last few years, they got a problem with an airline that did not pay (that will not be the last time airlines does not pay) If you are new to the aviation, be aware, airlines comes and goes.

Yes you are right Merpilot, these guys have a really good setup in taking people's money and then declaring bankruptcy.Thats a very clever system, they are very efficient in this!

I can only agree with SR-22. Did type rating on the B737NG and it was a great experience. Good instructors and well prepared for the skilltest. No indications what so ever that they are not thrust worthy.

I have lost money with the old Randhem aviation and it´s Mikael Randhem who now owns Northern Aerospace. I have talked to Mikael several times trying to get my money back but nothing happend.
He have offered me a new typerating if i pay in advance, but no way in hell i´m paying him more money. I know there was around 20 peoble who lost money with the old Randhem, and some of them have made a lawsuit against him.

Good luck

I just finished my MCC at Nordic Aerospace and I dont really understand all the bad rep you guys are posting.
The contact I had with the instructors and the company has been great with email responded to almost immediately or at least in just a few hours.
If I had any issues before or during the course they seamed really concerned about solving them quickly.
Compared to the other training organizations I have been in contact with, this one has been the far most caring about the clients.
Then the MCC itself was great, good instructors, great facilities and everything held in a nice atmosphere.
For me, I got only 100% positive things to say about the company. I didnt know any of the rumors before I started and to read these here I got a bit supprised.
If you are looking for a TRTO make up your own mind and contact the company by yourself. I did and I do not regret it!

To those of you dealing with any of Mikael Randhem companies such as Northern Helicopters or associated companies:
Latest fraud Mikael Randhem and Alexander Ottosson performed was to steal EUR 66 000 which was paid up front by nice and honest guys wishing to take their their Saab 340 rating. This happened only 6 months ago.
Neither money nor Type ratings was received.
Mikael and Alexander simply stole it, and used it, or perhaps invested in Northern Helicopters which is owned by Mikael Randhem.
I have a strong feeling people get quite irritated meaning Mikael and Alexander should watch their backs carefully..

It seems that they have shut-down their website...

BEWARE! I know Northern Aerospace has left their previous address at Gatwick, and if they have now shut down their website, it probably means that the two owners intend to re-surface under a new guise to continue their scams. I strongly recommend staying clear of these guys: I have worked for them as an instructor and not been paid. If you decide to get involved with them, insist on all expenses (hotac, travel, etc) - AND REMUNERATION - up front. Don't believe any promises of 'the cheque's in the post' variety.
