Evening all,

Just looking for some help or advice on the above. I'm interested in aquiring a tail from a fast jet aircraft to put in my garden (not my MQ). Crazy, a little sad maybe but I thought it would look pretty cool and be a nice talking point at a BBQ.

Does anyone know where I can get one from? I'm already in touch with a company called Everett Aero about a Jag tail but does anyone know any other dealers? Or if anyone knows where I can pinchan old one from an RAF station, a few crates of beer could go your way!

Cheers for now!

Try these

www.retroaviation.com (http://www.retroaviation.com)

Disposal Services Authority (http://www.edisposals.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Disposals-Public-Site/-/-/-/Default-Start)

or Storage flight at Shawbury may have a spare Torn or Hawk tail :bored:

Try Jet Art - Display Items (http://www.jetartdesigns.co.uk/displayitems/)

They I think had a phantom tail on ebay for a while for sale

Everett Aero is your best bet and you're already in contact with them

Now if you got the tail off an A380 you could make a multi storey house out of it and live in it.

That would be a talking point!! :}

Or an F111 wheel, a bit off a Tonka or a Storm Shadow trash can (the nose)?

What am I bid? Buyer collects.

I thought the answer was obvious, at the other end from the pointy bit at the front !

there is a scrapyard in Elgin down the bottom end towards the car dealerships, the guy in their bought loads of Phantoms from Kinloss/lossie he has tails as every time my dad drives past it it breaks his heart as he used to work on them many years ago to see all those phantoms broken up.

i am sure if you google scrapyards elgin you may find it or if you know anyone in the lossie/kinloss area that may be helpful

Hanningfield Metals in Essex took a lot of F4's from Wattisham, might all be gone by now but could be worth a call.

You could try here (http://www.amarcexperience.com/Scrapyards.asp). I think they might have one or two lying around.

Williamsons is the name of the scrappies in Elgin ( tel no. 01343 547496/543331) but I fear it would be a long shot now. Good luck.

At Chelsea one year they had a 'crashed' trainer in an 'overgrown thicket' in the main marquee. It was supposed to have lain undiscovered and become as one with the vegetation.

A number of old codgers stopped and speculated as to what aircrfat it was. I know I got it wrong as I thought it Hunting Percival but I think somone else said it was a Balliol.

Very impressive but the Mrs drew the line there even though a Vulcan would have given plenty of storage capacity and also a solid cover for the patio.
