Good day!

I would like to ask if anyone here had experiences in flying in Palm Beach County Park Airport. I am planning to do my flight training there as an international student in Palm Beach Flight Training.

* How was the flight school? Is it crowded? Is the scheduling for flight lessons fair?

Thanks a lot! :ok:

Hi,

I did some flying out of Lantana in Nov / Dec. I found the school were very helpful and friendly. The aircraft all seemed in very good condition. I rented out a c172r which was pretty new and no probs.

Lantana airfield is ok, although it sits under a section of class C airspace as Palm Beach International is literally about 5 miles or so to the north. But a good airfield, all on CTAF. Some people can make this confusing announcing incorrect info. This airfield is primarily used for training. Keep your wits about you!

All in all though I would highly recommend PBFT. To date out of all different companies / schools I have used for aircraft rental in the States, I have found these guys to be the best.

Enjoy it.

Hi,

I was at Palm Beach Flight and had a wonderful experience until I got home...

I checked my bank balance and was surprised to see a payment to them after I had settled, agreed and signed off my final mutually agreed payment.

I got onto them to clarify the payment. Turns out they charged me for my friends flight, he had rented a Piper Arrow for an hour, they explained that they couldn't charge my friend for the flight as his payment rejected so seen as they had my details they decided to charge me and let me chase the payment from him!!!

I quickly got onto Visa to dispute the charge. After lengthy emails with PBF they finally reversed the charge, with no apology and a snide remark, not to mention that they said they are getting their attorney, credit card company and debt collection agency after me...

After they admitted the charge wasn't my responsibility, with no signature for the payment and after they refunded the unauthorized payment!

I found it to be a great school but like many other schools make sure you go through the payments with a fine tooth comb and pay through a credit card as this will protect you from unauthorized payments!

How much experience do they have with foreign students?

Not unreasonable in itself, he is (was?) a friend of yours and obviously you went there together and flew together.
They could have asked you first...but then again you friend could have paid first time round. You could also have asked your friend to reimburse you.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to run after people to pay their bill.
Some of you (students/customers) really seem to have a financial screw loose.
Absolutely no hestation to start $60K worth of training with a provider that you have chosen after 5 min of research but when you get there find it normal to rack up thousands of $'s on your account and get all huffy-puffy if we ask you to pay.
