Excuse me if this has been answered elsewhere, I can't put my finger on it in Lasors either.
I have a CPL ME and IR which is due to expire next month, I need to convert it to the JAA one. Unfortunately I'm not currently flying. My last IR and Multi rating expired in January this year. Is it necessary to be current to convert the licence, or can I just pay the fee and get a licence which will need to be validated when I can do the skill tests, I'm not able to easily get current at the moment due to personal circumstances. If I don't do anything and the licence expires does that mean I'm back to zero as far as the authorities are concerned? I know I look like a fool for not converting it whilst it was still valid but I've been having a bad year elsewhere and flying isn't top of my list of priorities, however I'm loathe to lose all previous investment in case things pick up in the future.
Any help would be appreciated.
(In lasors I could only find the conversion of non JAA licence which presumably isn't the same thing?)
Thanks.
