What an amazing Life ! You are a true Australian icon, RIP.
Just a few years back was taken for a flight with an RAAF Roulettes instructor. After the flight he was so chuffed. Stated it was like riding a bike, you never forget how. And that was a long time after flying Spitties in the big WW2.
What a real gentleman he was.
RIP.

I remember a few years ago attending a play called "The carer" in which he played a man whose wife had just died. It was just him and was brilliant. It was evident that much of the dialogue had in fact occured in reality for Bud a few years before when his beloved Audrey had passed away.
I went and spoke with him for over 30 minutes after the play and chatted on all things from Spitfires to Qantas. A thorough gentleman, full of empathy and compassion. I never forgot the conversation nor the sentiments in the play..
God bless you Bud.

RIP Bud.
I thought he also flew Mosquitos during his RAAF career, also recall him being a documentary about his flying during WW2.
Thanks for the great aussie movies such as The Castle and TV shows like Homicide.
