Slightly confused by this one; I'm an aus PPL, but likely to be spending some time in the UK - used to glide there, so returning to my old gliding club and doing some tugging as well as gliding seems like a decent plan. (Note: Unpaid. Simply free flying, hence I see no CPL/PPL issue).
Now, over there, tailwheel and glider towing is taught and signed off by the club - I believe it comes under 'differences training'. I know tailwheel is a 'rating' round here, and therefore (I believe), needs to be placed on your license by CASA - i.e. more formal than a simple authorisation, and not something I could do over in the UK. Am I correct?
The main question is, does glider towing also come under the same scheme - in other words, must I get both placed 'on' my license before I go, or can I let them train me over there?
Thanks.
